The Redshift item in the System Tray no longer works in KDE Plasma 5.11.95 (5.12 beta). I really liked the System Tray entry feature of this, so hopefully that can be fixed in the future?

Of course, ye have to install the redshift command. Open a terminal and write "sudo apt install redshift" if yer OS uses APT.

Appears to manipulate core app, running it from terminal causes deeper red.

When I install this via the KDE Plasmoids menu (Get new widgets, search for this, hit install), it doesn't show up. I go back to the widgets menu but this one isn't there even though it says it's installed when I click the install button in the Download widgets menu. How can I get it working?

How do I add this to the actual system tray widget, rather than a separate widget that has a big space between it and the system tray when I place it?

To answer my own question, you right-click on the system tray -> System Tray Settings -> Tick "Redshift Control" in the "Extra Items" section.

Hi,
I am missing "bulb" icon on the left on the widget popup window. Also I am missing "bulb" icon in settings on "advanced" menu. Using Plasma 5.8.3, openSUSE 42.2.

Hey,

thanks for this plasmoid! I'm happily using it.

However, in recent versions autostarting redshift doesn't work any more. That is, every start of the plasma session I have to manually click the bulb to activate redshift, although I have the "Autostart"-option enabled.

Can you help me with this?

It is possible to enable/disable Redshift using a global keyboard shortcut?

Hi! Sorry for my late response. I'm afraid I don't know how to do that. I'll try to investigate and if I come up with something I will make this work in this widget.

In Plasma 4 a signal 'activated()' is emitted when the global shortcut is triggered. Probably that signal is still present in the QML implementation.

How do I know what version I'm currently running? There is no indication anywhere, no about dialog, no help, no nothing. I see this a lot on plasmoids and it needs to stop. There needs to be a way to see what version is currently running without jumping through hoops.

It seems like the Day and Night temperature values under "Redshift Control Settings > Advanced > Temperature" Sare reversed.
By that I mean the temperatures I set for 'Day:' are only applied during my nights and the temps I set for 'Night:' are only applied during my days. Other than that it works great!

Hi! Thanks for feedback. I cannot reproduce this behaviour... Do you have your location correctly set (I mean Settings -> Advanced -> Location)? You can set the GPS coordinates manually or use the button to retrieve it from Mozilla Location Service.

But if this is not the case, I'm not sure what is wrong. Time and timezone should also be correctly set. But you probably have all these things correct.

If you still experience this issue, please tell me your settings and I'll test your use-case myself :)
