Description:

Tellico is a collection manager for keeping track of your books, bibliographies, videos, music, comic books, video games, coins, stamps, trading cards, wines, board games, or any custom items. It supports any number of user-defined fields, of several different types: text, paragraph, list, checkbox, year, URL, tables, images, dates, and combinations.

Tellico imports Bibtex, MODS, RIS, PDF, and CSV and exports to Bibtex, Bibtexml, CSV, and HTML. It offers grouping, view filtering, and searching. Tellico can also import data from Amazon.com and IMDb.com, along with z39.50 servers, CDDB data, audio files, SRU servers, several different websites, and from the Alexandria and GCstars applications.

Note that kde-apps.org is not a support forum. Please sent comments, questions, or bug reports to the Tellico mailing list or the Tellico forum.

I second this. It is an excellent app otherwise, and I want to continue using it, but after a single edit and save, I have to restart to bring memory usage to reasonable levels.

Is it the XML file format that causes this? I.E., does the format require that the entire database be loaded into memory?

I'd really rather not use kde-apps as a support site. Please send your questions and bug reports to the Tellico mailing list. Info at http://forge.novell.com/mailman/listinfo/tellico-users

You benefit more people by using the mailing list. It's much easier to reply. And more people might help you.

Are your images in the data file or are you saving them to the app dir? Are your images showing up when you view the entries? Just compile with --disable-debug if you want to turn off all the messages, too.

just wondering.. would it be possible to import my amaroK playlist?

i already tagged all my mp3´s correctly, and this was a hell of a work. just wondering if tellico could import this data somehow?

Report

hds

oh, i just realize it reads the id3 tags all by itself. this is cool!

however - could it also thed the jpg/gif likewise to amaroK?

every album is in its own directory, and just contains one picture. would be nice if tellico takes this one ;)

If there's a .directory file with a line setting the icon, Tellico will pick up that up.

Otherwise, try updating the album using the amarok-search script, http://kde-files.org/index.php?xcontentmode=675.

err.. i am talking 10 DVDs of mp3 here, sorry if i didnt make myself clear about this

no, of course there is no ".directory" in there.
but i will try amarok search, thx!

Report

hds

well, amarok search doesnt help in my case, i fear ;(

to make this clear:
i like to include 10 DVDs, and the covers are already in each subdirectory of every album.

unfortunately those covers are not found by default, so i would have to edit every album in tellico manually.

also i am missing a kind of "mass tagging".

Having a .directory file with an Icon setting is the freedesktop.org spec for setting images for a directory, and many audio players use that as a de facto album cover.

You can edit multiple records at once.

I only want to import the cast from IMDB, so I update first from a other source an delete the updated fiels from the cast, but even if these fiels are the only empty fiels there aren't filled, when I update the entry. Why?
It works only, if I use the source IMDB first, but then I must delete everything exept the cast...

So: Can I configure it anywhere, that only the cast gets updated by IMDB?

Report

robby

Not sure what to tell you. If you have a movie entry, with a blank cast, then updating from IMDB should fill it in. There's no option to pick and choose which fields get updates, all the empty ones do.

Now it works as it should.
It's a pity, that I cannot choose which information from IMDB should be get.

I have problem compiling this package and recieved this:
datewidget.cpp:265:26: error: datewidget.moc: No such file or directory

It seems that an "include" at the end of files causes this error.

Report

The moc file should be created automatically. Have you tried rerunning configure? If that fails, you can create it manually:

/usr/lib/qt3/bin/moc -o datewidget.moc datewidget.h

from inside the src/gui/ directory.

(Change the moc command line to whereever qt is installed for you...)
