Hello,

1°)to uninstall it on debian, you have to edit install.sh and modify this two lines:
rm $kdeinstdir/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/kim*.desktop
rm $kdeinstdir/bin/kim*
--> put the options "-rf" at the command rm to force the deletion

2°)to use the album in pdf fonction, you have to edit "vi /usr/bin/kim_album" and modify this line:
KIMDIR=`mktemp -d "$KDEHOME"/tmp-"$HOST"/kim.XXXXXXXX` || exit 1
with:
KIMDIR=`mktemp -d "$HOME"/tmp/kim.XXXXXXXX` || exit 1

This help is only a good help only if you have the same debian configuration as me.

Thanks for this very good app.

XMANN.

kded: cannot connect to X server :0.0
kded: ERROR: KUniqueApplication: Registering failed!

Hello,

Ok, but I need additional informations to solve this problem! Perhaps, the pictures haven't been copied in the right directory! Check if the rights on your files and/or directory are ok!

Other people tested? I'm waitting for your comments on these two new tools...

Hello, I found by myself the bug! The flash slideshow works only with jpeg images. Thus, I modified the script to convert in jpeg the images. Now, it seems to work!

Making flash slideshow works perfectly :) but making mpeg movie rather not. It just initializing images2mpg and nothing, program stays in ram (0,5% cpu only) and movie is not made. :/

First off, this is a wonderfull application. I always thought it was overkill to use large image manipulation suites just to batch simple actions.

That said, I noticed a potential problem when doing the re-size. If you have an image that has a height greater than its width (vertical image), doing a custom re-size action of '900 x 900' shrinks it so the width is 900. The height remains proportionally greater than 900. However, if the image width is greater than the image height (horizontal image) it re-sizes the width to 900 but the height is proportionally smaller so it is not a problem.

It seems to me that when you enter '900 x 900' it should re-size the image so that regardless of whether it is vertical or horizontal it will be re-sized so that both the width and height will be less than or equal to the constraints specified.

it just coppies a bunch of files and puts a ~ at the end of two files.It is very simple.I dont see how it can be made better.No idea why it didnt work here.I suggest that you inslude a HowTo to kims readme file that has a 'How to install kim by hand if the install script doesnt work'(I can write one if you want to (?)

I get the Install aborted error as well....I'm running FC4 with KDE 3.5

I just installed all the files by hand and it seems to work fine....Only problem is that when I try to use the plugin to create an mpeg I get this error:

Could not find the program 'image2mpg'

I changed the .desktop file from images2mpeg because my distro uses image2mpeg....anyway, the script should be able to find image2mpeg as it is in /usr/local/bin/

any ideas?

Hi,

Ok, but it's very surprising that your binary is called image2mpeg ! I'll check this !

Thank you for this comment.

haha,I am using slack based distro as root.I dont have sudo here.Only su.
Seems like some people are with (k)ubuntu here lol.//

Kim didnt want to install because it couldnt find kdeinstall directory.
In slack based distros kde is installed at /opt/kde
Thankfully the installation script was fairly simple and all it did was copying files.
I just started konqueror as root and I copied all teh files to the proper directories and gave them permisions to be readable for users/group.
Now kim works.I wonder how can I make a tgz package,so the next guy after me doesnt have to go through all the fuss lol.
Now kim works fine,but when i try to create an animated gif I get:cannot find Kim_multyburst.
