Hi. That happends to me with a 14:9 file (a chapter of the tv show Rome) and 23.97 fps. The subtitle was a srt file. However, with the new version 0.2.26 the problem if gone. - Mar 15 2007
Hi! I've tried SMPlayer and I find it could be, very soon, one of the best MPlayer front-ends. A suggestion: it'd be great if subtitles could be loaded moving them over the player screen. Besides,I've sen that when the program loads the subtitles, most times changes the aspect of the video although the original aspect was good.

Thanks a lot for your work! - Mar 15 2007

I have a problem. Since some versions ago, k3b doesn't recognise well the speed of my DVDs. I've tried with 8x and 16x DVDs but k3b always reduces burning speed to 4x. On the other hand, the DVDs are perfectly burned at about 3.9x speed.

Is there a problem with my configuration or with my hardware? I use Kubuntu with cdrdao 1.1.9, cdrecord 2.01, dvdrw-tools 5.21.4 and dvdrtools 0.2.1 (all fron official Kubuntu repositories).

Thanks a lot

I can't find usePipBuffer in /k3b-0.12.9/libk3b/projects/k3bpipebuffer.cpp. Instead I've found a usingRingBuffer(false) at line 51 and i've set it to true. Is this what you wanted to say? Must I change other settings? I'm going to compile and try.

Thanks a lot. - Dec 15 2005

I have a problem between mkisofs and growisofs. It seems that the buffer isn't enought and my dvd burning speed reduces to 0.5x to 2.5x.

I've found and fix called pipebuf that solves the problem when you use mkisofs and growisofs in console.

Is there anything similar for k3b? How can i write dvd at normal speed.

Thanks - Dec 10 2005

First of all I want to thank you for the new VFAT support. It's something I've been waiting for some time. But, I think I've found a problem in the beta. When you press Transfer button to send the files to the device I see a window where I can select the way to order the songs. However, when I select one, the files are copied but the directories aren't created, so I've got a lot of songs in the root of the device.

Besides, I've seen the program copies each song as a diferent file so if you copy 50 files 50 transfer dialogs are opened. I think it'd be better to transfer all files at same time.

Well, I hope this will be useful. Thanks again and sorry my awful English.

First of all, congratulations for this great app. I've got a problem with the notifications. I use the kicker's option that make it dissapear when you are not over it. The problem is that I can't see the bottom half of the notification when kicker is not on top. Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks a lot. - Dec 27 2005

Your question is interesting and I don't know exactly how KDE controls the order or de service menus. I thing the order is due to the name of the .desktop file. In my computer, if i rename xmmsdirectory.desktop into xmmszdirectory.desktop the Play with XMMS service go after Enqueue one. So yo can try to rename the file (for example adding an 'a' at the begining).

Another system is to add the line X-KDE-Priority=TopLevel in the section [Desktop Entry] of each service menu. This put the service out of the Actions menu, in the principal tree.

Try these things and say me your results. I'm going to continue investigating. - Jul 21 2005
Just go to $HOME/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus (create the servicemenus directory if nedeed) and copy xmmsdirectory.desktop file. Note that .kde directory is hidden. - Jul 08 2005

As you can see in previous messages it exists a problem with SuSE distro. It seems that metabar only works as root user, others users only can charge the metabar writing "konqueror --profile filemanagement". It exists a patch by linux3114a which provides a script that executes konqueror in this way.

I have "discovered" another way (probably you alredy know it) that consists in execute konqueror as the user you are (for example clicking "Advanced options" in the properties of the application). So kdesu is forced to be executed and konqueror is open with metabar option.

The problem i have found with these two methods is that i feel konqueror charges slower (but it can be only my subjective impression).

So, if you clever minds find a solution please, notify us it.

Thanks a lot and sorry my horrible english. - Apr 05 2005
