Hi Latte Dock ver. 0.7.78+git20180318.1832-0~ubuntu17.10 works great with Plasma 5.12.3, however, using this version I can't open the settings menu any more doing ar right click on the dock. Anything changed or is it an issue with Latte? - Mar 19 2018
Thanks very much. It worked for me, too. - Feb 07 2018
Sorry, forgot to mention: I am using LD 0.7.77 - Feb 06 2018
Hi, I just installed Plasma 5.12 on my Kubuntu system. Now my Latte Dock soes not start any more because of a segmentation fault. Unfortunately, the new latte plasmoid does not provide by far the features the app does. Any solution or workaround except for using the plasmoid? - Feb 06 2018

Thanks very much for your reply. The issue is not much of a problem to me and I did not mean to push you in any way. just wanted to ask you about Its actual status. - Oct 04 2017
Are you currently working on a fix for WW crashing kwin using Plasma 5.10.5 or is there a way I can work around it except for editing the location? - Oct 01 2017

Hi Fabien,
I installed the Nvidia Beta (tear-off)and it works fine aexcept for the clock display. Using the actual it displays the mecahnical calendar instead of the tear-off one. i guess that's an easy fix. - Jul 22 2017
Thanks for the fix. Everything works fine now - May 06 2017
It gives me '440'
By the way, I founf a fix for my disk window not displaying the sda1 data: In the file '' I changed the 'tail' expressions from 'tail -n +2' to'tail -n +1'. Now it displays both sda1 and sdb1 as well as my fritznas drive. - May 06 2017
Yes, i changed both of them but it didn't fix it. - May 06 2017
No, sorry, doesn't work either. The funny thing is, with one of the versions I tried before, the cpu window was in in German and the temperature was displayed correctly. Only the cpu graphs did not work right. Unfortunately, i did not keep this one. Aslo, there was a version with a new tear-off calender design, which I can't find anymore. - May 06 2017

sorry for bothering you again with the issues I had before. I downloaded the latest versions again using kubuntu Zesty and found, that in all of them the CPU graphs work well but the CPU windows are in French again and the temperatures aren't displayed any more again.
Also, the disk usage window does not diplay the main disk. Instead, it shows the usage of a couple of loop devices, which does not make too much sense, as they, of course, always show to be completely filled.
Thanks. - May 04 2017
It's a 6-core Xeon X5650 CPU. - Apr 24 2017
Hi, thanks for the fix. It wprks fine, now. I hadn't even noticed, that the numbering of the CPU's is wrong in the console output. I haven't changed anything and the application displays the CPU's in correct order.
Also, the translation is correct. - Apr 24 2017

Hi, after upgrading to Kubuntu 17.04, the temperature is not displayed any more. Also, in the German version, the titel of the processor information section is in French. You might e.g. replace it by 'Processors'. - Apr 21 2017
I noticed that in the CPU Information section the bar graphs always display exactly the same level for all 6 CPU's although, of course, the loads of the CPU's are totally diferent as indicated by the oercentage displays. I am running Kubuntu 16.10 and Plasma 5.8.5. Any idea? - Apr 09 2017
A lot of information at a glaance. Very well done. - Mar 26 2017

Thanks very much for the link. The installation using the deb worked perfectly!
- Nov 09 2016
Thanks for the instructions. I ran the command from within

and then

~/Install/Kup-kup-0.6.1/build$sudo make install.

Unfortunately, this did not change anything about starting the backup module.

I akso uninstalled before installing again but with no success. Should I have removed files before or even have started from scratch?

Sorry for coming back on you again but I am not too familiar with installing from sorce code. However, I am learning ... - Nov 08 2016
This is what I found:

plus a huge number of kcm files in my ~/install folder, which, I suppose, are not relevant.

May my descrpition of the error message was not precise enough, so, I try to translate the essential part of it from German:

A dynamic library could not be found.
Possible causes are:
1. A problem occurred during the last KDE upgrade causing a single control module of the previous version to be left over.
2. Old modules exist of programs that do not belong to KDE.

Actually, I did a clean new install of Kubuntu and only restored my data to my home partition.

By the way, is there a deb package I could have used for the insatallation for Kubuntu 16.10? I only saw Arch packages and even was not sure they would fit my 64bit architecture. - Nov 06 2016
Thnks for your support and sorry I did not read the README carefully! The installation seems to have woked fine now. However, if I open 'Backups' in the system settings I get a message saying that a single kup control module has been left over during the last KDE upgrade and that I should remove it. Now, where do I find the old control module? - Nov 05 2016

After upgrading to Kubuntu 16.10,, I just tried to install kup, but the installation failed. Cmake produces quite a number of error messages, as it seems to lack many *config.cmake files. I could I could fix some of these issues by installing e.g. qt5, but there are still a huge number of KF5 files missing and I don't know, where to get these from.

Also, cmake can't find OpenSSL, although it definitely has been installed.

Any support is appreciated

Thanks - Nov 04 2016
Although not having found the reason for the integrity check failing on some of the pack files I solved the issue by running a completely new backup. - May 22 2016
What a great backup tool!
I just installed ver. 0.5.1-1 on a Kubuntu 14.04 system and ran a manual backup of my personal data using an ext4 formatted Fritz!NAS drive as the destination drive. Basically it runs perfectly but each backup has a couple of corrupted packs, so I can't view the archived files using the 'View Files' function. So, what do I do with the corrupted packs as I don't see any way of restoring files without being able to view the files?
Thanks for your support. - May 16 2016
