Description:

SnowIsh icontheme by Saki for KDE.
Original for GNOME created by Saki, merged with NuoveXT and compiled for KDE by me.
Due to the many requests of a port to KDE I merged the GNOME-Iconset with NuoveXT to fit better with KDE (as NuoveXT has many similar-looking icons and more of them ).

INSTALLATION-INSTRUCTIONS:
=====================
Unpack the archiv somewhere, open a shell, navigate to the unpacked archiv and type "sh buildset" (without quotes). After a few moments another archiv named "SnowIsh-1.0.tar.bz2" (or something like this) should appear. This icon-archiv can be installed as usual with your Control Center.

The build script depends on 'convert', which is part of ImageMagick.

For those who want to know what the elements in the screenshot are:
Style: QtCurve with "inverse Gradients" ( http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=42950 )
Colorscheme: created by myself ( http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=42916 )
Windeco: modified "candido-compiz" for compiz
Icons: SnowIsh of course ;)
Wallpaper: modified version of http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/8910489/

Where did you hide the ipod nano icon shown in the preview picture?

It's in the "devices" section...

Well, yes, I would expect it to be there, but it isn't. There's only the standard iPod icon.

The buildset script can't seem to find `convert'. What is this and where can I get it?

Report

Convert is a utily which can convert between image formats, resize images etc from console. It's part of ImageMagick, so install this to get convert.

As a designer, i do not recomend to resize the icons from a .png source because small sizes looks to smooths and not clear at all...
Other than that, the icons looks very nice.

It doesn't seem to work (the icons just looks as default) on my install - neither using the tarball directly nor the tarball made by buildsh.

Plus, I get tons of errors from ImageMagick on running buildsh:
convert: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/ImageMagick-6.2.8/modules-Q16/coders/png.so: undefined symbol: png_get_asm_flags

Otherwise it looks like a very nice iconset - too bad I can't try it out.

Gentoo Linux, AMD64, KDE-3.5.2., ImageMagic-6.2.8.0

I'm using Gentoo, too. It seems as you have to recompile your ImageMagick tools, because the error is an error from convert, not from the script... Therefore a working tarball can't be created, if the icons cannot be converted...

Thanks, that solved it.

The theme looks nice, I only miss that not all file/mimetypes are done already (e.g. coloured folders, video folders).

I have coloured folders and I have "video folders" as well. These icons are all done. Not all the mimetypes are done, though. But I can't do that much, I'm no graphics designer. I just ported SnowIsh from GNOME to KDE. Saki created the original ones. He is also the crearor of NuoveXT.

Checking for convert... which: no convert in (/usr/local/sbin:...)

WTH is "convert" and where do I get it?

"convert" is part of ImageMagick... Should normally be installed on each system.

Ignor my above comment, I did not see that you had already out what the elements of the screenshot were.
