These are the QtCurve settings I have, It is only usable with blur enabled.
I find the transparence is one of the features I love in KDE and it makes my desktop look more open, like an open window on my wallpaper.

0.1 suits my eyes for now !
0.2 Added background pics, changed opacity
0.3 Changed some Agua gradients to some less "glass"-looking ones, making it easier to read the text in menus. Suits the update of Light & Light Color Scheme ;)
XBar Support (take a look at the "bespin" engine), Window Titlebar disappears on maximized windows.
0.4: If I recall correctly, I changed the opacity again and the difference between title bar and window should not be visible anymore :)

To still have the buttons on the maximized windows, go to configuration of QtCurve, In something like "Window Manager", uncheck "hide on maximized windows".
To have the buttons always visible, take a look at the "Window buttons".
I'll upload the new screenshot as soon as possible!
