KIO slave for iRiver iFP MP3 players
Various KDE 1.-4. Improvements
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work): Add the source-code for this project on opencode.net
This is a KDE KIO slave for iRiver iFP MP3 players, so you can up- and download files to/from your iFP using KDE's Konqueror.
It is designed to work with the Manager version of the iRiver firmware as it uses the excellent tool ifp-line (http://ifp-driver.sourceforge.net).
To install the library untar the archive and follow the instructions in the
README file.

On the side note, your KIO slave is based on ifp-line. Is ifp-line a part of your tarball or is it a dependancy?

I do have one question though, and it is probably the obvious answer I fear. Downloading of mp3s is disabled by the device? If so, does using the UMS firmware get around this problem?

I haven't used the UMS firmware yet but as far as I know with the UMS firmware you can download all file types from your iRiver to your PC.
