I had the same problem you're all having. Easy to fix though, and you don't have to invoke it from command line (which is a pain)

open each of the .theme files, and do a find/replace, finding scripts/rssnews.pl with /path/to/themedir/scripts/rssnews.pl

When starting this theme from the frontend in KDE 3.1.4 and SK .33, the backgrounds appear only. However when invoking the theme from CLI using 'superkaramba NewsTicker.theme' the news display is filled properly. Any suggestions? Other themes are working properly when invoked from the frontend.

This could be the same problem, if you are not starting it from the correct path.

But i've to say, that i havn't tested it with superkaramba.

i have this installed and when i open one of the themes (20min, NewsTicker, whatever) they are just blank boxes on my screen. any suggestions?

cd path_to_theme

Sorry for the late answer. I was in holiday.

That's right, you've to "cd" to the path were the theme is located, i've forgotten to write a notice in the README.

This is not very comfortable, perhaps i find another solutions (like a start-script).

Me too. Still i don't know where is the problem.

I revised perl script, and it runs fine executes as command line.

Anibody knows the problem?

I get it from http://www.newsisfree.com

There you've a big list of news-feeds. The direct Link for "20 Minuten" is:

http://xml.newsisfree.com/feeds/12/1612.xml

You see more examples in the file scripts/rssnews.pl

I found this one randomly using google since cnn's rss is broken.
