Description:

Displays your hard disk drives and removable devices dynamically.
Need python-qt3 and python-imaging in order to work.

Here it comes again :)

v1.4 is a WIP (Work In Progress) release, and just a milestone on the way to 1.5, wich will feature a new config window, with much more options.

I still wish to change the hdd monitor basic skin, so if you've skinned it already, please send to packadal@gmail.com :)

WARNING : you *MUST* click the "apply changes" button in order for changes to take effect
I know this is clumsy, and i'll be working on it for 1.5

If anyone thinks about an improvement, please explain what you want, as i'm open to any suggestion (i.e. i added the transparency options on demand)
my e-mail is still packadal@gmail.com so send any suggestions you have. Hdd monitor is designed to fill YOUR needs ;)

---- how to skin hdd monitor ----

The skin must be of 4 files, named as follow :
* top.png : the top of the theme
* bottom.png : need an explanation ?
* hdd.png : the background image of each and every device
* vumeter.png : the bar image itself
* button.png : the unmount button

The images can be any size, the only thing you have to do is create a skin.conf (there is an example in the package) with the x and y positions of the bar on the hdd.png.

----- Next version info -----

* skin support improvements
* config window improvements
(in order to enable the user to show the device label, do per-device specfic configuration, etc )
-- Please wait, this may take some time due to real-life issues --

Ask for any feature you want, i'll try and do it if i got enough time :-)

Hi! Well, few versions ago, your program was working great in my computer :D buuuuuuuuut it does not work anymore! I mean, when I loaded it, it shows only a black box (actually a transparent one) and anything else. Also, the configuration menu does not work.
Please, keep up with the good work! :D (and of course, try to fix it ;)

Make sure you have py-imaging and PyQt installed on your system, as described in way above under "Whoops".

I did an update on them, no response.

Then I restarted the system; it worked.

I don't know if restart or update+restart did the trick as I didn't do a restart after monitor installation through superkaramba and update through yast

I like this one - easy to interpret at a glance. Some eye-candy I'd like to see:

a degree of transparency, to let the background partly through. Maybe 50% for the overall frame, 25% for the bars?
don't show filesystems such as /proc, /sys, /dev/pts, /dev/shm
remove the header and "hdd meter", or make them optional. I know it is an hdd meter - my brain isn't so far gone that I'm likely to forget.

Anyway, thanks for the work, and for a useful theme.

OK, after did "yum install python-imaging"...

MMMMMMmmmm yeah! Transparency looks super good! I've popped a couple of screenshots up at http://clheiny.mystarband.net/screenshots/snapshot1.jpg and http://clheiny.mystarband.net/screenshots/snapshot2.jpg

Still see /proc, /sys and /dev, though.

Thanks!

I was going to grab a screen shot of /proc etc, but decided to download the latest version first. Now it doesn't work at all. Yikes!

The window is not there - just a bar the color of the background (I can see it because it obscures part of an icon). The usual theme menu is available (no configuration, though), and I can unlock the bar and move it around the desktop.

I'm running superkaramba 0.37 of KDE 3.4.0 (Fedora Core 4).

Je parle de l'hard disk (don't know how to say it in french, sorry). Je dois avoir un 'hard disk' tres petit pour voir toute la barre e tous les couleurs :)

I really like the theme. You can improve graphics a little bit... for example use a gradient and not only full colors... but that's just a personal opinion, great theme again :)

Thank you for trying to speak french :) (hard disk = disque dur)
You do not need to have a little disk, you need it to be full ;-)
I'll add an option to change themes later, i'm working on the configuration. If you are interested in my to-do list, just ask and i'll do it ;-)

i love it!
SUGGESTION:
Can you change the font size? I prefer the small font! Can you expand in width the theme? Some long text are cuts! :((

TNKS! ;)
