Sadly, in the official repositories of Fedora KMyMoney 4.5 is build starting from F14... no packages for F13.
If someone is searching a RPM for F13 x86_64 I created them for my use, you can download from http://www.coolbits.it/software-download/utilities/10-kmymoney-45-rpm-per-fedora-13.

Great program!

Hi, i want to try this software but during installation-setup i noticed that kmymoney still belongs to qt3. although it is written for qt4. I checked the dependencies of the package kmymoney and found scim-qtimm belongs to the circumstances.

it would be nice if dependencies to the old qt3 could be completely cut off.
is it possible ? :-)

kind regards

Please contact your packager about this fact. KMyMoney 4.5 does not require any Qt3 parts except your distro's packager set it up that way. Which distro and package are you using anyway? And which version of KMyMoney is it with?

Or am I missing something here?

Hello,
I use ver 3.98.1 and the problem is I can not create sub-categories.
It used to work in the past. My old *.kmy file has sub-categories.

Also encryption does not work in this version.

It is installed in Debian sid

Thank you.

3.98.1 is rather old and a development version on top. Please upgrade to 4.5 which is the stable version. 4.5.1 should be released soon (matter of days).

I am just started to use my first personal accounting software. I think I have started with the best one. I don't know the basics of accounting. Nor the accounting terms. But I felt that I can do it with KMymoney. Then I took a print-out of the hand-book of KMymoney. Its really great and simple. It suits even for dummies... I am in love with it. Thanks for such a great software... And I think the interface has to be modified which will give the programme a serious outlook.

I really need to get KMM 1.0.2 installed, but I keep getting the error msg:
-------
checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE libraries installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
--------
Can anyone point me to a repository for a 64-bit version or help me to solve this problem?

Using: KDE 4.3.2, Kubuntu 64-bit

You need to get the KDE development headers for KDE3 installed. I am not a Ubuntu expert so I can't tell you which package those are in, but you can also scan the forum on http://forum.kde.org/viewforum.php?f=69 or ask over there.

Hi all, are there any plans to port KMyMoney to KDE 4? Any roadmap? Or not currently planned...

Any plan for KDE4?

There is an alternative ready for KDE?

We're currently working on it. Work in progress is available in the KDE4 playground SVN. Don't expect this to function in the near future as good as the KDE3 implementation. A lot of work is still ahead of us.

Am I the only one out there who likes to print checks? KMyMoney is great and the program would be complete if we could only print checks from it. Is there anyone else out there who knows of a program for Linux that will do that?

Report

Maybe I can help you.

Printing checks isn't a hard thing to implement. I've never read kmymoney' source base, but we can do this into a separate program in little time.

Contact me at turrini <at> gmail <dot> com.

Hey, thanks, that would be great! But --- you say - we --- and --- eh,hem, I hate to admit it, but I wouldn't have the slightest idea where to begin when it comes to programming and I wouldn't want to waste your time. I appreciate your offer though!

Check printing will not be an integrated feature in KMyMoney. It is available though as plugin at http://cheepee.homedns.org/~cristi/kmymoney-plugins-0.2.0-SVN.tar.bz2 For more information, please contact the author directly.
