KRadio 2004-02-23 Snapshot
- kde 3.0 & include file fixes
- segfault fix that occured after station scan
- mp3 recording
- fix for recording configuration save/restore
- alarms configurable for weekdays
- no more unnecessary redraws in recording monitor
- improved behavior of quickbar: poweron/off automatically if necessary
- only redraw necessary parts in recording monitor
- split kapplication & pluginmanager
- enable multiple "instances": We have now a (very simple) method to play more than one radio source at once: Set the configuration variable in kradiorc "instances" to the required value.
- cleanup IErrorLog usage
- use threading for recording/encoding
- fix several annoyances in configuration dialog, such as a reasonable minimum size of that dialog
- recording buffer management is now configurable
- preset file storage location is now configurable
- finally managed to fix segfaults that occurred when calling virtual methods in destructors of template classes (application exit and scan-dialog closing), see http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4861
- add button for sleep countdown to display plugin
- open /dev/dsp is no more blocking
- set correct PCM_ENABLE_INPUT flag when starting recording
- recording: replaced QSocketNotifier by polling/nonblocking IO with QTimer. Some sound drivers do not support select()
KRadio 0.3.0alpha2
The second alpha release of KRadio 0.3.0 is now available. This release fixes many compile time and GUI problems encountered in kradio-0.3.0-alpha1.
Apart from fixes this release implements the long expected comfortable recording capabilities. Mixer recording source and IGAIN level are selected automatically. A recording monitor dialog is available that displays recording duration and current(monitored) volume.
In this release V4L2 support has been added, too. Errors and warnings are now accessible with a comfortable error log window.
Please test and report problems and errors! Though this release is labelled "alpha" KRadio 0.3.0-alpha2 seems to be rather stable.

I know the error message mentioned /dev/radio but I assume that this is a fictinal device. When I ran Kradio on RH, it played wonderfully. Same system, same hardware. So, it should play on Debian, too.
Thank you.

actually play. But I had Kradio in an earlier RH installation and it played
fine. So, I am familiar with it. That's why I would like to correct the
problems and make it work properly. I really liked it and would like it back.

[Using Debian 3.1 Etch with
0.3.0 snaptshot for Debian (2004-02-28)]
A great program, but although I installed it correctly, it seems to have some sort of problem. Would appreciate your help. Very much looking forward to using Kradio.
Thank you.

Just don't really like the icon (system tray), kRadio looks hi-tec, it needs a high-tech icon ^^
