Description:

ReleaseForge is a GUI application designed for project administrators and release engineers of projects that are hosted at SourceForge. It is intended to make it easier and faster to create a new release rather than using the SourceForge Web interface. It streamlines the release effort by prompting you for information regarding your new release (version info, change log, release notes, files to include, etc). It then seamlessly negotiates with the SourceForge Web server, creating your release, posting your release notes/change log, uploading your files to the SourceForge FTP server, selecting the files for inclusion in your release on the SourceForge Web server, updating the file attributes of each of the files and then, if appropriate, notifying monitoring users of the new release.

Hi.
This is a great application. Something I have been dreaming of lately as releases are very time consuming via web interfaces.

Only sad to me is I can not use it for now as my project isn't hosted at sf but at berlios (and has an entry at freshmeat as well). Maybe some day a plugin system could be integrated allowing to use different project hosters would be nice.

I will defenitly keep an eye on your nice app.
yours,
Andreas

This needs to be part of kdevelop, what do you feel?

Thanks for the positive comments!

I'm not a KDevelop user (I use Xemacs). However, if somebody wants to integrate ReleaseForge w/ another project (such as KDevelop) I might be interested.

Great tool.
But I have a feature request: mass release updates. I want to hide a bunch of releases with two or three mouse clicks. Would it be possible to present a table of all releases in a package and let the user change multiple releases at a time. You could than just update the changed ones or add checkboxes for the items the user wants to have changed.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll put it on the todo list.

Good news... this will be implemented in 0.9.1-- I'm just finishing up a few items.

As of now, a table will appear with the release name, id and a combobox with Hidden/Active values. You can manually toggle the combobox values individually or select as many as you wish with the mouse and press the "Hide Selected" or "Activate Selected" buttons.

As of now, you cannot edit the release names, just the comboboxes. In the future, I may allow the prior as well, but I'll holdoff until I get some feedback from others.

You should update the download link. It still points to the 0.6 release.
