I've just upgraded to Basket 1.0.1 form opensuse 10.2 (Guru) repository, but the awful bug, that makes Kontact crash on statup when Basket isn't running, is still present.

There's a feedback on bugs.kde.org too:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141299

Nasty bug, please take a look.

It's a pitty that the last version in Debian unstable is only the 0.6 http://packages.debian.org/unstable/kde/basket
Must install the deb manually on Kubuntu.
Basket 1.0 doesn't intregrate kontact yet like the previous one ?

Nice funny application.

Wonderful. Helps me to sort out my chaos of snippets, texts, etc.

I just wished there would be a way to set "line wrapping" for long lines if they have no spaces inside. Similar to kwrite.

No more integration in Kontact like in the other versions?

just installed Basket 1.0 and it looks very promising, but I could not find the KPart in Kontact's part-list...

For me it didn't instantly appear, I had to restart Kontact for that. If it does not appear after restart, run kbuildsycoca as your own user and try again.

And check that the following files are located on your filesystem (readable by you):

/usr/share/services/basket_config_apps.desktop
/usr/share/services/basket_config_baskets.desktop
/usr/share/services/basket_config_features.desktop
/usr/share/services/basket_config_general.desktop
/usr/share/services/basket_config_new_notes.desktop
/usr/share/services/basket_config_notes.desktop
/usr/share/services/basket_config_notes_appearance.desktop
/usr/share/services/basket_part.desktop
/usr/share/services/basketthumbcreator.desktop
/usr/share/services/kontact/basket.desktop

Now, can we expect to be able to print a basket out?

That'd be terrrrrrific.

Thank You for developing such an excellent piece of software.

Are there any plans for a plugin system? I would love to see a Xournal intergration or some form of TabletPC support.

Great app, but there is a big problem with Kontact integration.
After installing Basket, Kontact crashes when launching, if basket isn't running (if basket is running, all is ok).
At least with openSuse 10.2 (installed with rpm on the repositories).
Please check this serious bug, I've to delete libkontact_basket from /opt/kde3/libs/kde to workaround this bug.
Ah, obviously there is a feedbak on bugs.kde.org for this bug

Keep up the good work!

Love this application! It's a very good for any kind of note!

One thing i would like is a "grid mode" in free-form to make it more easy to line up notes. That's to difficult now.

Thanks for the app!

works on edgy eft ubuntu after installing two missing libs :
apt-get install libjack0.100.0-0
apt-get install libmad0

ps: on the basket site the link to the kubuntu packages is broken

Hi,

I have a router on which I connected an usb HD.

I am so interresting with your basket program but I encouter a problem.

Then I ask you if you can develop this needed trick.

Be able to use basket with local (HD) and network (centralised) basket (and sub basket).

Why does I ask this ?

I can use my habitual basket informations and need to centralised through a network some basket. Some with developpers some with my children.

To do this it need at the creation of a new (sub) basket to ask the location of it. After what I see them in my basket collections.

Just one think. For this it is necessary to manage conflicts between two users on a (sub)basket item. You just need to lock it if a user is using it. It means in the basket folder (on the centralised storage) you just can use a small file. this file can tell which item is in use in a (sub) basket and if somebody try to access it he can just see it and not modify it.

And the last but not least. The HD connected to my router is a 2,5" external HD. It means I can take it to my office and then connect it to my portable. Then it is may be also necessary that when basket is opening it check if the known centralised (sub) basket are available. If not it scan the usb port to see if they are availble in local and then display it if exist.

Sincerely thanks and please allow us to use this basket tool so professionaly as possible.

Sincerely thanks and have a nice day.

I hope you can positively answer to this request. It can be better for all user to be able to share this.

Oh I forget to tell you that the centralised (su) basket can be connected with a simple fpt address (exemple : ftp://192.168.1.1/centralisedbaskets/)

Just upgraded to 1.0 via the source packages on the baskets.kde.org site.

Everything seems to work fine, except trying to open an encrypted note yields the message:

PASSWORD PROTECTED BASKET
Encryption is not supported by this version of BasKet Note Pads.

Also, right-clicking on basket no longer yields a 'Password-Protect' option. Yet the settings still have an area to choose how long password-protected baskets stay open.

Has anyone else had this issue? I'd like encryption back...
