This is a great improvement on the builtin bar. I've been using konq sidebyside with firefox because of the better support - now I can stick with one browser :). I will build a deb pkg when I have some time.

Hi,
I've just installed bookmarkbar and it looks great. I'm running OpenSuse 10.2 and had to copy the following files to /opt/kde3/lib/kde3 and /opt/kde3/

konqsidebar_delicious.la konqsidebar_delicious.so

The strange thing is it will only work for me if I launch Konqerour as root. If I lauch it a regular the bookmarkbar component won't come up in the sidebar. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Make sure you have read permission for konqsidebar_delicious.la konqsidebar_delicious.so. You probably screwed up when copying them.

I unpacked v 0.2 to /usr/src/build and fallowed the configure and make commands showed in the README file as root, but I see no bookmarkbar after pressing F9. I even logged out and back in to try F9 again. May I have more help? I'm missing some step.

Great app, really. Now I can use del.icio.us much better than with the kdeaddons bar.

However, I had a problem [KDE 3.5.5@Gentoo]:

The bar didn't show up, and Konqueror printed following to stdout:
konqueror: WARNING: libname:0x86dfb90 doesn't specify a library!

So, I followed one of the posts above and did:
cp src/.libs/konqsidebar_bookmarkbar.so src/.libs/konqsidebar_bookmarkbar.la /usr/lib/kde3/

Now it works very well.

Thanks for this app and thanks to the one who found out the problem :)

I want all posts to be shown when the search field is empty. Patch: http://pastie.caboo.se/41815

Thanks for the great work :)

Thanks for writing this app - it worked a lot better for me that the del.icio.us sidebar included in kdeaddons.

One minor issue - when installing (kde 3.5.6/fc6) I had to manually do a

cd src/.libs
cp konqsidebar_bookmarkbar.la konqsidebar_bookmarkbar.so /usr/lib/kde3/

before the sidebar would work - the "make install" script did not seem to do this for me.

Apart from that minor issue this is a great add-in .. Thanks again

yeah same here :)

Same thing here, a manual copy solved it though. There must something missing in Makefile or similar, but I don't have the knowledge to find out..

By the way Bookmarkbar seems to be installed in SUSE Linux 10.1 by default, congratulations for that.

That's not Bookmarkbar, that's the del.icio.us sidebar from kdeaddons. :)

Good work, do your project have a web page (it doens't seems to have a link on this page)

There is only a little bug: "make install" doesn't copy the libs in /usr/lib/kde3/

Any plans on adding support for alternatives to del.icio.us, as for example http://scuttle.org/ (http://scuttle.org/wiki/)?

Some changes are required:
https://api.del.icio.us/v1 => http://[host]/api
Adding a bookmark: http://[host]/bookmarks.php/[user]?action=add&address=[address]&title=[title]
Edit: Same as add without the title

And for some reason the user is set to Unknown, but I haven't looked into this.

Renaming tags work (if the api url is changed).

For the next version, I had support for multiple bookmarking sites in mind. I just need to figure out a decent interface for it.

Is it just me or is the "Post New"-function broken? Instead of getting to the posting page, I get redirected to the login page. This happened two or three days ago, so I think they made some interface changes.

I think it's just you - at least it still works fine for me.

Is it my imagination, or is there no way to add new bookmarks in this plugin yet?

hope konqi gets KGetHotNewStuff support for these sidebars... or, i guess, they have to be c++? if so, then i hope python, ruby etc etc will be supported soon :D

You can write Kicker applets with PyKDE already, IIRC, so I don't see why you couldn't write a Konqi sidebar in Python too, assuming someone writes the bindings for it. It would certainly be nice - this one took me two days to write in C++, would have been two hours in Python.
