His comments are kinda understandable now, aren't they? No need to get yourself all worked up. GNOME's his baby, of course he loves it. ;-)

Bottom line is that whoever this guy is, is an idiot, who obviously is one who feels that everything he has to do has to be superior to everyone else.
He's the annoying guy that has to insist that his computer is "better" than yours, that competes against others to try and get a better benchmark, that CARES about such useless things...
Hey, buddy: NOBODY CARES!

13 People started using KDE
7 People started using Gnome
Also note that there was no default X windows selected on login. At the end of the class I again tallied the number of people using diffrent window managers.
11 People used KDE at the end.
9 People used Gnome at the end.
So with all the argueing its just a personal choice, niether Gnome or KDE is winning by any great stride.

Like said above, Linux is all about choice.
If Linux would be a system without choice, I would've used Windows right now.
If you like Gnome, use it.
If you like KDE, use it.
If you like Enlightenment, use it.
If you like the command line, use it.
And both Gnome and KDE's default looks are ugly.
No offense to the authors, but such a nice DE should also have a nice visual look IMHO.
I really hope KDE will ever get a professional and clean looking default theme/style.

Gnome and kde are both relativly easy to use (both have their deficiencies), and I think that with gnome 2, gnome will come on the same level as kde 3.x when it comes to things as font handeling and transparancy..

No, he's just childish and clueless. According to one of our developers we'll have SVG-icons in KDE by the end of this week. That might be too late for KDE 3.0 but who cares anyways? SVG support is technically nice and might have quite some benefits in the longterm - but not for now.

nice shot!
but I just switched to kde after two years of GNOME, and I won't switch back for a long time I think, because KDE is better.
Anyway, thanks to ximian and to all gnome developers, KDE and GNOME are getting better every day and that's what's matters.
