[IDEA] Open folders in "Save as" dialog
Various KDE Extensions
Score 54%
Description:

Many times I open folders with the file manager, launch an application, and I want to save a document in one of those folders.
What do you think about having a list of open folders in the "Save as" dialog?
Surely it is a change that requires interaction with the window manager, but I think it is feasible and can be applied to other desktop environments...

I think better idea is add document history functionality. When you selects save new version, old version will go to history and never replaces the old. Also, there should exist option to show document versions. In document versions dialog, you could simply drag file icon.

Yes, it will be a nice feature, maybe a "save as" dialog with a version control substrate for autoversioning. It can be another idea to submit on opendesktop.
My idea simply points to help when you save the file for the first time or to save it in different locations; but anyhow, dragging something as the "save" icon from the application window to the folder currently open (the file manager window) could be a better alternative to save a file; file name and file type, eventually, can be asked after dropping the icon...

It could be a good idea, but wouldn't it be better to have a 'Search' option OR a 'Recently used' list of folders, like those options found in Nautilus/Gnome3 ? That kind of implementation lets us use recently used folders and easily find any other folder we might need.

Definitely! Maybe open folders with the file manager are anyway a "recently used" resource and can fall into that category. ;)
