Description:

This is the App for Opendesktop.
It offers direct "Apply" functionality and content management for downloaded products.
So you can download, install and apply desktop themes, icon themes, wallpapers, or mouse cursors under various desktop environments using the "Install"-button.

Currently supported are these desktop environments:
KDE Plasma, Gnome, XFCE, Mate, Cinnamon, Budgie, LXQt, Elementary and Enlightenment.

Using the AppImage package format, It should work on any distro like Ubuntu, Debian, Arch, Suse, Redhat and many more.

# Installation with AppImageLauncher

If you have never installed an AppImage before, we recommend this tool that makes any AppImage run, install and uninstall easily on your Linux OS:
https://www.opendesktop.org/p/1228228/

(Please see if AppImageLauncher offers native packages for your distro, if not, you may request it in the issue section.)

After installing AppImageLauncher, you can simply download the Opendesktop AppImage, make it executable and Double-Click on it.

The AppImageLauncher will then ask to "Run or Install" Opendesktop App (or any AppImage from there on) on your computer.

# Manual Installation

To properly install the AppImage:
1. Download the package
2. Open a terminal
3. Go to the directory where the file has been downloaded
3. Execute the following commands by replacing *filename* with the actual downloaded filename:

$ chmod +x *filename*.AppImage
$ ./*filename*.AppImage --install

Proper installation is recommended to register the app in the desktop menu and make it check for updates.

This seems to be an app where you simply do the exact same thing which you already can do in firefox.

So why not rather use firefox, which has better Zoom-Options?

building the app from github works fine here.

maybe true ? but if this is the case, what about all the other things ? prime Example: GUI Software, why not just use it via command line or website ?
