Also fits perfectly my dual-head without no fiddeling :)
May be you add that the automatic installation from kde4-admin with "get new Themes" is not working on FreeBSD, the file needs to be downloaded and then installed with the "Install new theme"option
but it is worth it!

Thanks also for noting that FreeBSD needs manual installation for kdm themes. I have added FreeBSD in the distributions that need manual installation just like Kubuntu and OpenSuse (you can see it in the description above)
Thank you once more for you kind words, I hope that you will keep like the theme...
Regards,
Michail

I would like a lot to have your opinion on the partner ksplash theme which you can find it here:
http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Red+Chenille-%28New+QML+Version+KDe%3E%3D4.8%29?content=136351
For some reason the kdm theme is double as popular comparing to the ksplash theme, even though I think of them as equal. But I can not really understand why. For me both themes are considered equal...
For me it's a mystery why the ksplash theme is not considered as good as the kdm one....

I have just uploaded the new main version which has two sub versions (one with users list and one with no). Along with many other tweaks and a new handmade background in inkscape... Hope you like it...

sorry to hear that...
1) For the background choice I will keep with this one for some time, maybe make it a little cleaner in the future, i dont know yet... If you want the old background you can find it at beckas @ deviantart:
http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&q=chenille#/d2c87l0
2) For the user list I dont know why it is not showing to you. I use opensuse 11.4 and kde 4.6.1 . Maybe, have you enabled the choice to show user list from inside the control center -> login screen?
With regards,
Michail

I don't know why yours is not working here but wild guess it's some Suse typical incompatibility. In KDE3 Suse's KDM had some extra patches too so that a KDM theme built on a Suse system did not look the same on other distributions.
With the code above my KDM screen looks like this: http://secretpicdump.com/de/view/7790_9ab12_screenshot.png/
With your code the user list is empty - maybe the background picture is on top of the list so that the list is covered?

I 've tested the new version with Kubuntu 10.10. User list did not appear also in Kubuntu (I found out after your comments...). I just disabled two lines from the previous version and the user list now appears...
Please test the new version to tell me if that's ok with you...
One small issue: The second user in the user list appears always a white background in Kubuntu but I dont have this problem with OpenSuse. I have to think about it but it's probably a distro spesific issue because I have the same problem also with other kdm themes in Kubuntu...

can you give me some information? What is your distro? and what kde version do you use?
I use KDE4.6.2(from the official repo-with no suse patches) in OpenSuse11.4
I am going to create some virtual machines in order to find exactly what's the case...

But alas the user list is not working here, it is blank.
And I have to admit I prefer the old background, it looked more authentic. The new one looks too artificial and clean and has those regular stripes... lost a lot of its charme IMHO, sorry to say.
Do you have the origal background in a higher resolution?

Yes I can create a version with user list, but the only problem I have is in ideas... :) I had tried in the past but it didnt integrate that good... for example the user list inside a notepad etc... If you have any ideas I am all ears... :) If not I'll create one hoping in good quality, it's gonna take some days...
