I just installed this a couple days ago, I love it! Only problem (as some already pointed out) is that you have to right click the widget and then select Reload, otherwise it will only show "OFF".

EDIT: I found a solution on Github.
I'll explain briefly, (Note, I just started using Manjaro, which is my first Linux installation... I'm sorry if I'm too detailed).

First open Dolphin (or your file explorer of choice) and navigate to
/home//.local/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.thermalMonitor/contents/ui/
(Note! ".local" is a hidden folder, you'll need to access is through dolphins 'Adressbar' )

in the ui folder you'll find a file "main.qml", open that and search (ctrl + f) for "systemmonitorAvailableSources"; change this row from:
property var systemmonitorAvailableSources
to
property var systemmonitorAvailableSources: []

Next time you start your computer, you'll not have to manually reload the widget.
I read this at github, here is the link:

9 It needs an update. You have to "reload temperature sources" at boot to make it work, which is a sign it may deteriorate even further in the future.

This widget is a "must have" and i wish KDE developers would pick it up and make it one of the default ones, since it is critical for those who have laptops.

Since my laptop started overheating and I spent time dismantling and cleaning to resolve I have become a bit dependent on this widget. After messing round this morning re-installing (inc from github/discover/terminal) I ended up getting it from `just a icon' to a working temp gauge by choosing the .386 source instead of the default. (neon). It now again sits in the toolbar telling me the temp which is currently 52% Celsius ( it was wavering between 70 - 90 a few months back without my knowledge and the laptop was playing up for awhile before I worked out the problem using this widget) - just a bit of feedback...

I'm only seeing off on the CPU temps. If I reorder them, they will work again, but eventually it will say "off". I have little coding experience, but I'm going to look through it for any thing I might can do.

Similar experience here but shows zero degrees. Adding another monitor=>apply=>remove=>apply=>OK gets it working again.

Noticing a bug with the latest version of Plasma, which I'm hoping the owner is still around to fix: When plasmashell starts, all temperature sources show 'off'. You always need to right-click and select "Reload Temperature Sources" to get it working.

This might be a good app if the Add Resource page didn't open larger than the screen and is will not resize.

9 +I have a weird bug where I have to 'refresh sources' after logon to display cpu core group temperatures (highest temp core shown). Otherwise it remains blank. However gpu temp (single temp source) works correctly on initial widget load.

I can confirm this. Hope the developer is still around to help fix the problem.

Use this version instead:
https://github.com/roachsinai/plasma-applet-thermal-monitor

build from source and don't use the release page version.

and for me when it's on panel it requires to remove and add sources again or temp will stay 0. seems quite same trouble source.

Does not work. Only shows the frame of the widget with a huge pixelly cartoony thermometer picture overlapping on both sides and no readings anywhere.
