Its Reproduceable now:

The X6.qtcurve was made by qtcurve 1.5.2

Go into qtcurve's config dialogue, pick the agua preset (or any other), hit ok to exit the dialogue, press apply (which doesn't do anything here) scroll up one on the widget style dropdown to plastique, hit apply, scroll back down to qtcurve, hit apply, hit configure, pick X6 (this theme was called X6.qtcurve in ~/.kde/share/apps/QtCurve/, hit ok, then hit apply, scroll up to plastique in the widget style dropdown, hit apply, scroll back down to qtcurve, hit apply and hit configure and it crashes every time. - Sep 24 2010
1.5.2 worked perfectly when applying settings over and over and previewing things.

Updated to 1.6.2 yesterday, i usually make changes, exit the qtcurve dialogue, apply the plastique theme and then qtcurve, but 1.6.2 crashed when i tried to reconfigure and sometimes when switching from plastique to qtcurve in the dropdown.

Here is the debug info:

2a. maybe the custom menu colours are not being used - Jul 02 2009
1. The horizontal and vertical background gradients are the wrong way around.

2a. The selected colour of menubar items should be the selected text colour.
2b. Custom stripe colours cause the stripe in kde4 apps to appear black. However gtk2 is fine

- Jul 02 2009
Oops, i've found another issue

The checkmark colour is taken from 'Text' but that text should be the view text, and not the window text.

:D - Jul 02 2009
i finally have some time to try out qtcurve again, and i've noticed that HSY is very sensitive to changes:

See how a 0.01 change results in the tab being considerably darker and the lighter stripe of the progress bar being considerably lighter? I think it was better in 0.63.0 the beta version

I haven't had a chance to play with it yet but it looks like you've been very busy adding lots of new stuff. Nice work :) - Jul 02 2009
Congradulations! You've made something unique:

I was sure someone must have said that before, but no. - May 19 2009
At first i was going to ask for at least 18, but then i thought that rounding it to 20 would be better, then i realised that at some point qtcurve might have more than 20 gradients so it'd probably be better if the problem was dealt with once an for all with a solution which would allow as many gradients as the user wanted to create. This way you can keep many unused gradients for later use. - May 14 2009
Any chance of having more gradients?

How about a gradient list where we can add a gradient with a custom name, delete or rename a gradient. Then go edit that gradient in the gradient editor, and then use the gradient in the style.
- May 13 2009
I thought that was just to preview the gradient and that it couldn't actually be used in the theme itself - May 08 2009
A custom colours page in the config dialogue which allows custom colours for just about everything would also be nice - May 08 2009
I've also noticed this, its very hard to use colours in themes, the only colours that can be used as the base colour are the greys, others just don't work as well, look at the screenshot:

i wrote a long description and it got wiped when i was asked to login again :( - May 08 2009
Hi, the scrollbars of qt3 apps are being rounded even though i've set square as the style

Any chance of scrollbars flush with the side like keramik? without the 1px gap - May 07 2009
Any chance a new slider style with checkmarks in the slider itself? like this:

i like the tickmarks and the way it shows the filled portion and the colouring used for it, but the slider gripper is too wide, if the slider was shorter, like the short sliders used as the volume control the wide slider gripper wouldn't look as good. - Apr 29 2009
Any chance of an option to have bold text only in the menubar, when its applied through the fonts section the menu font is applied to all menus including the menus which dropdown from the menubar and right click menus, the option to differentiate just the menubar text from the rest of the window text would be good - Apr 20 2009
sudo aptitude install kdelibs4-dev cmake

Debian unstable now has kde 4.2.2 but i can compile the kde3 version by installing kdelibs4-dev and cmake, maybe you can too, but i have to remove the -dev packages for kde4 because they conflict - Apr 11 2009
* extract it
* cd QtCurve-KDE3-0.62.6
* mkdir build
* cd build
* cmake .. (you will need to install dependencies first)
* make
* sudo checkinstall -D

just answer the questions and it will make the deb packages for you and install it

sudo checkinstall --pkgname qtcurve-kde3 --pkgversion 0.62 --pkgrelease 6 --default --nodoc --provides qtcurve-kde3 --maintainer=`grep $USER /etc/passwd | awk -F: '{print $5}'` - Apr 09 2009

How about using different dekorator themes when maximised(active and inactive) and restored(active and inactive)? or based on window rules?

Have you considered making an svg based version? where themes could be made in inkscape similar to the way that plasma themes are made. A check theme option would be good if you make an svg engine, it would list all the acceptable object IDs that are used by the engine and show whether they have been assigned to an object in the svg with a little tick or cross in a list, so i'll know if i've accidentally forgotten to name the maximise hover button. With svg based themes you could add a scaling factor to increase and decrease the size of the theme so the user gets the size they want.

How about allowing one image to expand and fill the area desiged to have a different image, so midLeftFrameBg.png could take the place of topLeftFrameBg.png and bottomLeftFrameBg.png, that way if you apply a similar concept to the top, you could have a single object which is stretched out from the left to the right which provides the background for the entire titlebar, this could then have a smooth gradient which scales well. Or you could make a smooth gradient with just topLeftFrameBg.png, topRightFrameBg.png and midTitleBg.png, where midTitleBg.png is stretching to fill the whole area, but you could also have topLeftFrameBg.png doing the stretching.

So each object can stretch, tile, be the actual size, or unused, if the object is an unused object, it will need to show whether the left or right object is to fill its place and how wide it should be, so leftTitleBg.png would allow midTitleBg.png or rightTitleBg.png to fill its place

Its mind blowing how complicated this could get - Apr 22 2009
