Thank you trying. It's my bad, that --enable-kde4 not mentioned in readme.

May be including rpm in name reflects its purpose more. But, that is my choice to not include that. I somewhat do not like naming shcemes like that.

Tuncel not much different from rpmxdgtool, besides providing context menu options for other DE's. Desktop files/options naming gives what i think a user needs. So, while forking rpmxdgtool, i did not prefer to change them. - Dec 23 2013

Good news. I have found the solution. Just go to gnome-appearance-properties > customize > colors > reset to defaults. That's all. But this situation may show us script has a bug. We need to apply above fix automatically; at least on Mandriva... - Aug 12 2010
Nope... I have created another rpm with all themes included in elegant-gnome source archiva but got same look, different from screenshots. Something is wrong but what?? - Aug 12 2010
OK. I' m a bit curious. I' ve made a Mandriva rpm without your modified Awoken icon theme and comixcursors. I' ve used original themes. But i used your modified re crono gtk theme. I got different look from screenshots. I wonder why? It is normal to have different look with icons and cursor but also gtk theme looks different. I' m unable to fix this. May be you can help me. You can look into my srpm and help me to fix this.
You can find my srpm here:

Also here is what my desktop looks like after installing the rpm: - Aug 12 2010
Hi. i really like your theme and want to create a rpm for Mandriva Linux. I wonder if i use original Awoken icon theme, re crono gtk theme and ComixCursors theme for my rpm, will it look like in screnshots or did you modified them? Also i wonder if Elegant GTK Theme is a modified version of re crono gtk theme?

I have some suggestions also. Instead of including all those themes in your source package, doesn' t it better to write a script to install those themes from gnome-look ( or devian-art)? And apply your modifications (if any)? - Aug 12 2010

Most of text files have 700 file permissions. Also some icons have 700 too. You can give chmod 755 to executables and 644 to icons. So permissions issue should gone. Btw i have fix this in my rpm. I' m quoting related parts of spec file. Also you can get gtk-icons-awoken-0.9-2mvt2010.1.src.rpm from

# fix wrong file permissions
chmod -R 755 AwOken
for i in $(find AwOken -name "*.sh"); do chmod 655 $i; done - Aug 12 2010
Hi. I want to create a rpm package from your really awesome icon theme but i can't! File permissions are mostly 700 instead of 644, except scripts. Can you pls fix this? - Aug 11 2010

I intended to build rpm for every version; but there are some rumors that Mandriva Linux production will be aborted. Just make some googling to see what happens. If Mandriva survives from this situation, i' lltry to provide RPMs for Mandriva.

Hi, i have succesfully build Mandriva rpm for upcoming 2010.1 release. Package can be found at MandrivaTurkiye RPM repository. Also, rpm package has a note to how to hide metacity as mentioned above comments: - May 26 2010
Your "/usr/bin/compiz-decorator" way didn't work; but i manage to find my way. There was "(any & !name=kdesktop_lock)" option at my window decoration settings. I added "!(state=maxvert | maxhorz)" option after that and it wont work. So, i have changed options order as "!(state=maxvert | maxhorz)|(any & !name=kdesktop_lock)" and bum! now i can hide metacity! Thank you very much! - May 25 2010
I see... I' m using gtk-window-decorator. I should try your suggestion tonight on my home computer and give feedback. Thank you very much! - May 25 2010
Thanks for reply. I have tried out your suggestion but no success. The only way i found to get metacity hide is completely disabling compiz window decoration plugin. May be it is a distro specific thing. - May 25 2010
Thanks for immediate reply. I have forgotten to tell you that i've already check that option, in my first comment. So, is there any other way to make this? - May 24 2010
I have packaged these great two applets for my Mandriva install. Everything seems fine. WB and WT appyets added to panel, WT shows title and WB controls windows. Except one thing, metacity didn't hide. Even compiz enabled. So, i need help; how can i hide Metacity? - May 24 2010

Thanks for immediate response. About gtk apps, i have using qtcurve with Qt-Gtk engine and that might be the problem. I've should checked this. Silly me.

If you propose kde3 compliation fix, it will be much appricated. May i ask you, how can we use KDE4 config on KDE3? I mean what parameters needed to pass to cmake? Also, i have noticed that versions above 1.0.0 won't compile for KDE3, only QT3; altough just "-DQTC_DEFAULT_TO_KDE3=true" parameter passed to cmake. - Mar 25 2010
I forgot also, with Qtcurve 1.0.0, latest version that i succesfully compile, have problems with gtk applications:

"/opt/kde3/lib64/kde3/plugins/styles/ undefined symbol: _ZN13KStandardDirs7makeDirERK7QStringi"

Again, someone other than me have same error: - Mar 24 2010
I simply can't get it compiled with KDE3. Always gives:
"/config/qtcurveconfig.cpp:1518: error: cannot convert ‘bool’ to ‘EShade’ in assignment"
Someone other than me faced this problem as well:

Any help, pls? - Mar 24 2010

Hi again! I have tried new 0.4.0 version. First of all, thanks for implementing some of the futures i have suggested. I have noticed that, in x86_64 package, application is crashing immediatly witouht when "Edit Sources" option selected. Also, every stratup of application, seeing "About" notification is very annoying. About new features of easyrpmbuilder; i recommend that you should add "Add sources" and "Add patches" buttons to main window. So, they will be easier to reach and to use. I think you should consider other suggestions to create more powerful rpm-build frontend. Thanks for good work! - Dec 06 2009
I have one more sugestion,

- If applicable, Easy RPM Builder should sign packages (via rpmbuild --sign option) if it defined in .rpmmacros file - Dec 04 2009
.rpmmacros is a file to keep rpm macros settings defined by packager locally. And there should be one on OpenSuse too, if packager wants to define global macros. See and also see - Dec 04 2009
I have tried this eye candy RPM builder app on Mandriva Linux. I don't know OpenSuse build system but according to my Mandriva experiences, i have some suggestions:
1. Application should look for local .rpmmacros file (/home/user/.rpmmacros) and if one found parse it and skip existing macros like %vendor or %packager. but it sould get rpm %topdir form .rpmmcaros.
2. There should be a "Add %define macro" button on ui to add them if needed.
3. There should be an "Add source" button to add more Sources if needed. Also there should be an "Add patch" button. These newly added patches and sources should be auto-numbered like;

Source0: xxxxx.tar.gz
Source1: yyyyy.tar.gz

Patch0: xxxxx.patch
Patch1: yyyyy.patch

4. It would be nice if there is a button to display macros in /etc/rpm/macros.d (rpm build macros are in this directory on Mandriva) like displaying RPM-Howto included in your package.

5. Also it would be nice if syntax highlighting can be used. KDE' s kate have RPMSPEC.xml file to use for syntax higlighitng. I think it can be used for this purpose.

6. For Mandriva RPM package template, Release section should use %mkrel release_number.

7. I remembered now, also there should be "Buildrequires", "Requires", "Provides", "Conflicts", "Obsoletes" buttons to add these sections automatically like i have suggest in #3 rd suggestion.

If these suggestions can be implemented this will be a rocking frontend for rpm-build! - Dec 03 2009
