I think, the Cairo-Dock is closest to the Mac, but unfortunately I do not have a good opinion about. Cairo-Dock is complicated and difficult to configure, but if I make same configuration for few different units, the Cairo-Dock will be included as an alternative. - Aug 30 2010

Concerning Docky, it seems to me that this is a problem with autostart. After Docky restart, it works fine.
Unfortunately, without the logs analysis is impossible. - Aug 26 2010

Here is a package with a few logos:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/macbuntu/files/macbuntu-10.04/v2.1/distributor-logo.tar.gz/download

Download, unpack and follow the instructions ;)

Terminal:

$ wget https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/macbuntu/macbuntu-10.04/v2.1/distributor-logo.tar.gz -O /tmp/distributor-logo.tar.gz && tar xzvf /tmp/distributor-logo.tar.gz -C /tmp && cd /tmp/distributor-logo/ && ./install.sh

In Ubuntu Lucid Lynx (10.04), there is no chance to change the appearance of GDM. Yet. Except that what the script has already been set.

What plymouth do you use? What about this one http://love2spooge.deviantart.com/art/PAW-OS-X-Plymouth-Theme-173974024 - Aug 25 2010

Soon I'll prepare a version for Ubuntu Netbook Edition. Probably without compiz. I have tested and it seems that it would not be sensational. - Aug 25 2010

Why create Vista or Seven like themes?
Because we can and people like that?
Linux is more useful but Mac looks better. This is why.
In addition, everything is a copy of Mac ;) - Aug 21 2010

I added the missing uninstall script. It restores the default appearance and settings in Ubuntu.
However, please keep in mind that the script is dedicated to Ubuntu 10.04. The script was placed in a separate file.
Let me know. - Aug 20 2010
