"Happiness comes at a price : the price of suffering!"

Actually, i don't think happiness comes at a price, if not the price of living, being. I think people have lost sight of what's happiness. Really, look around: people are always looking for something better, somewhat a constant unsatisfaction. People have lost the ability to look at a glass of wine and see it half full, and not half empty; they have lost the ability to look at the present, look how the fuck they are powerfull, that's it, how well made.

Now, to that point, i agree; but i don't see why you want to suffer to reach happiness.
I may just say "ok, go on, cut you a hand
if it can makes you feel so happy why would I contest?",
"and by the way, would you say okay if i asked you to do it with my toothbrush just bought last day?
"The better you suffer, the better you are,
"i know a guy in Niger, it was forty-five,
"he took more than a whole year to die from a cancer
"he caught those ones on a river, at home in Niger
"he thought this shit gonna lead him to glory
"but he died in the lost of a all possible dignity

Me again... A good feature for Peagle would be advanced search. Like search audio based on tags (genre, album, year) i know it automatically searches them, but it would be cool if you could specifically search in those fields.

Ok, i dont have an account on this site so i'm using bugmenot account. It took me a long time to figure out what the hell i was doing wrong, and it turns out i wasn't doing anything wrong. This is a real hack, but this is how i got network access of my files.

I really only needed LAN access, so thats what i set it up as. The fileserver was set for \\SambaServer\ through samba. I used beagle/peagle to do searching and then had it link to the files through samba sort of.

I had to edit two things. First, edit peagle or peagle.php (i still dont know the difference).
Change the function link_open to add a line similar to this: Quote:

so it should look like this:

function link_open($url)
global $set; $url=str_replace("/home/","////SambaServer/",$url);
case "kde":case "gnome":case "mailcap":case "custom":return("/open?o=".rawurlencode($url));break;
case "link":return($url);break;

The four slashes are for the two slashes before a network link. Of course, i'm sure you could replace that ////SambaServer part with something like an IP address if you allowed web access, but for me, i didn't need web access.

The second part of this is to edit the mod_file.php file. I may not be covering everything, but all i wanted to do was to be able to open music files while browsing.

in there, edit the line that says Quote:
<div class="headline"><a href="<?=htmlentities(link_open($a["Uri"]))?>"><?=highlight(htmlentities($a["beagle"]["ExactFilename"]))?></a></div>

to be

<div class="headline"><a href="<?=(link_open($a["Uri"]))?>"><?=highl.......etc

so you are just taking out the htmlentities part of it. I actually don't remember why i did that, you probably could leave it in. I just don't like all that %20 stuff. Whatever, i had never used php or html before today.

I wish this project was supported more. It really needs to be. If any of you make progress, figure something out, or write better code, email me at Scruff323 {{[at--}}] - Jun 03 2007

First off, sorry for using a bugmenot account, i couldn't be bothered to register for yet another site...

Secondly, the eBuild for this package exists in the Xeffects overlay:

Use that URL to guide you through it.. I use Layman to keep up with the majority of my overlays, although using SVN directly will work as well.

It is also important to note the following

How to view this screensaver using XScreenSaver:
1) You must first edit
and add a line for the new screensaver:
GL: "kCometen3" kcometen3.kss --root \n\
2) Edit your kCometen3 settings:
$ kcometen3.kss --setup
3) Run xscreensaver-demo and select the screensaver.. Note, it will open a full screen window to "sample" from.

Also, this screensaver doesn't support Xinerama, so dual heads will not work so great with it.

Kdesu seem to ignore the /etc/sudeoers file, so is'nt possible to configure the system for use without password.
It's possible to make an option for choose the custom program (sudo / kdesu)?

Another issue (in gentoo):
every time you start kwlan you get a warning: "Impossible to find your user name..." i think is needed an option for ignore this problem, like for dialup and wpa warnings.

"Pros don't edit text in the layout application..." Please, you know that is not true.

Windows > Action History, undo the text box not the text itself. What's wrong with Ctrl-Z to undo misspelled text, like any other application?

Instead of calling people trolls you need to learn to live with critics. - Feb 27 2007
I worked several years with desktop publishing and prepress, using almost all softwares (Quark, Pagemaker, Indesign, etc.) and even the simple one (maybe Pagemaker) had a text undo option.

Is sad that version after version of Scribus is released without this very simple feature.

I hope that one day we have really professional applications in this area. (Gimp is a joke and Scribus cannot compare to Indesign of Quark).

Sorry. - Feb 27 2007

I almost had an hearth attack. It worked fine with a few changes, but suddenly kde didn't see anymore any of my songs...
They are there, ls lists them all. Phew.

I'm using amarok 1.4.4, and my library is in /home/user/music. Your offline script tried to write in /user/music/.

I did a quick change to add /home, I'm not posting the diff because that's a dirty hack and will work just for me. Anyway, I think it would be easy to fix it in a clean way.

I discovered this script today when i was looking for a solution to display amarok song information in msn on gaim. Even though it is not supported yet i was glad to see it is in the works.

I did a little research and according to the issue tracker at
they are working on supporting personal messages for msn in gaim, though it seems it could take a while. Until then i would be perfectly happy with the now playing info integrated in my nickname.

ps. When I was using gaim 2.0 beta 3 on from the standard ubuntu edgy repository the script did not work, after adding the repository and upgrading to 2.0 beta 5 from it my song info is showing in gaim. - Jan 10 2007

cp ~/.xscreensaver ~/.xscreensaver.juke.bak

The mysql part should be simple, and then just make them all links to the command for amarok to add to the playlist "amarok -a" I would assume that the perl module already has this.

I will atempt to chagne some this code... I'll take a quick crash course in perl, by following your code.

ALSO as a side note, I had to manually downlaod and compile the 0.006 verion of DCOP::Amarok::Playlist to get it to work. - Jun 10 2006

I notice that anybody accessing this interface has full filesystem read access (same access as user running this script)
To convince you, just type
wget 'http://localhost:1234/mp3?url=/etc/fstab' -O -
in a console, and you will get the file /etc/fstab if the user has read access to this file (if you ask for a directory, the script simply crashes).
