Thanks for letting me know, should be fixed now.

The download link points to which is working as of 2nd December 2006.

Danny - Dec 02 2006
If you provide details of these icons, I can look it to it for you.

Danny - Sep 24 2005
Wow - thanks for such kind words!

Regarding the number of icons against crystal - there are at least 2300 icons in this set, though I am always looking to fill in the gaps.

If you can find *any* icons in kde that are not themed by this set (not including gnome apps! :), please tell me...

Hehe - I know, I think the grey one is better too :)

I am creating this version for people who have trouble distinguishing regular icons - the high contrast, and large sizes that SVG icons can be displayed at should be a large boost to this group of users.

Happy to see you are still around :)

Eh, sorry - I have only just noticed this comment :)

I only modified the liquidweather applet for this, which now has some of the flat style stuff in, so I suggest - if you are still around :) - that you check that theme, and report any problems with it to its actual creator.

Sorry again,
Danny - Sep 24 2005
Thanks - you know, I think it would look even better with the **cough** Flat **cough** iconset :)

I also had the same problem - to fix, run the command "kbuildsycoca" in a konsole window, then try to run ./krita again...

Oh yes, and thanks for the feedback :)
Whilst you are getting the SVG version, you might want to try out my black-and-white version that I am currently working on:

Have fun,
Danny - Jan 13 2005
I was hoping that this issue was only being experienced by a few people, but it seems more widescale - I promise that I will now look into it :)

Danny - Jan 13 2005
Don't worry - the "Flat 1.0 (for KDE 3.2 or older)" works fine on KDE 3.3 as well.
It is just the set in PNG format for older installations.

Danny - Oct 21 2004
Hehe, thanks for the comment :)
Well, yes, they are "subdued" - however, try using them for a few days, you might start to like them.

Icons are supposed to have a function, not get in the way of the user - that is my thinking anyway.

I did start a colour version of my icons, but I got bogged down producing 2 versions in parallel - now that the set is "version 1", I might start again.

If you only want me to change to a different colour, tell me, and I can easily produce that.

Danny - Oct 20 2004
Ok, I have found the problem.
It is fixed now.

Thanks for telling me :)

Danny - Oct 19 2004
That is probably because it is a link to the SVG iconset page here on

Danny - Oct 19 2004
Thanks for the recent comments everybody - I know I haven't been on here enough recently, but I have been occupied with other stuff.

Will upload an updated version soon!

Danny - Aug 21 2004
Sure, I will add them.
Though, because I do not have the 3.3 beta, I will need the names of them.

Danny - Aug 01 2004
Sorry for the late response - which links are not working? If you want, I can email you any files that you want.

My internet connection is not working...

Danny - Jun 23 2004
Thanks a lot - now that I have hosting back up again, I am happy :)

Danny - Jun 14 2004
Yes - at this very moment I am preparing an SVG release of my icons - I have had some issues (namely that fact that inkscape SVG's are not rendered correctly in KDE.

This is solved now, and I will release very shortly. - Jun 14 2004
12/06/04 - My webspace is down!
If any one can provide webspace for my 10mb iconset, I will be extremely grateful! Thanks, Danny.
******** - Jun 12 2004
Yep, I know this is possible, but this only applies a tint to the icons - my colour set will have lots of different colours... - Jun 10 2004
Yep, I do create the icons as SVG, and I know that there are python scripts available to change the colours - however, I could never get these to work :(

Also, my current choice of colours (just grey!) is, IMHO, a bit too restrictive, and so redoing all of the colours is probably the best way.

Don't worry though - it will not take too long :) - Jun 07 2004
Thanks for the colour scheme.
Kile has already been created - I have just not released in a while :)

I think that I will create a primary colour set and also a pastel set... - Jun 03 2004
Yeah, the last few days I have thought more and more about releasing a colour version.

But first, I wanted to make sure that I had a good base of icons - and I think I have done that now (I am also running out of icons to create).

I an thinking of releasing both a primary colour version and a more sober looking one - do you have any colour preferences?

I will probably start tonight :) - Jun 02 2004

Thanks a lot for this valuable feedback - though I have not been spending time on this icon set recently, I have been working on the black-and-white version of the set:

I have changed the thumbnail icon in this set - if you could download it and tell me about any other "uncertain" icons, that would be great!

Danny - Jan 13 2005
Ok, fixed this (I think :) for the next time I release...

Anything else? :)

Danny - Nov 25 2004
Yep, that is great (though I don't use gentoo :)

I have noticed Comix myself, especially how well it would go with my iconset.

I agree with cblue - debian is a REALLY popular distro, especially as many popular distros are based on debian.

Please, Please, PLEASE consider adding debian as the next supported distro!

This is a great applet - however, because the images are resized from 128x128, the themes often look blurry.

Perhaps each theme could have many sizes, such as 32x32, 48x48, etc. just as kde icon sets have.

This would probably solve the blurriness.

Good job!

Just one point really: the line stroke size on the pyramids is way too thin!

It would look alot better if the lines were thicker.

As the author says, there are only currently about 10 icons in this set - no where near enough for a working set. This is why these icons have not been distributed as a working set - they are just a preview...

In short, they will not be able (yet?) to be installed. - Jun 11 2004

I like the way you have done the icon layout - looks very clean!

I am happy that you have chosen my Flat icon set (at least temporarily anyway? :)

Any suggestions/requests for new icons?

Just tell me when you update, and I will update this one to.

Thanks for the source applet!

Sure - but as I am not a coder, can you find an existing theme that cries out to be improved? :)

This way, I can also see what you really want...

If this icon is original - fair enough :)

But, if it is just ripped off, it gives a bad image of the community, and just feeds the windows/mac zealots.

Of course, it is sad when people criticize
genuine artwork that just resembles a well known style. - Jun 08 2004
Are these icons really GPL (ie. original)?
Or are they just lifted from OSX?

If they are original, good work!
If not, they shouldn't be here... - Jun 08 2004

I see that you also have the flat extras pack - if you want, I can bundle this colour scheme with the next version of Flat extras.

I have started work on a color version of my icons - just bright primary colours at the moment. I will post a preview here very soon.

Also, do you want me to make a Flat version of that calendar applet? - Jun 03 2004

Sure, I mean, I cannot write python, so I modifed an existing theme (the original theme did have some sensors, but I stripped them out as my computer has no sensors :)

But if you can implement it, I will be happy to do some icons and stuff for you. - Jun 01 2004
