Right click the system tray, System Tray Settings>Application Notifications ;-) - May 29 2010
Yes, it works. You have to go into System Notifications and disable application notifications. Then enter 'notify-send Hello' in a terminal to test that it works.

Unfortunately, the one thing I find myself needing to do is type that command every time I start my computer :-/ Anyone know how to fix that issue? - Apr 30 2010

I didn't think so... I'll see if maybe I can just do some extreme adjusting of the borders then for the top right. Thanks for your help. - May 12 2010
Oh wow, nice. I did not know that, thanks for pointing it out! I will have to try this later. Are you aware of any way to get multiple overlays as well? - May 11 2010
That's for Plasma, not Aurorae ;-) And my trouble with Plasma is that I'd need two separate overlays. But thanks! - May 10 2010

I would love to see a full Kwin/Plasma theme that falls in this style. It has a nice, natural feel to it. - May 09 2010

I'm doubting this is possible, but I'll ask anyways :)

I'm creating an old concept theme someone posted entitled "Olympic," you can search for it to find my work so far. I would like to have a sort of "overlay" on the top right corner and possibly a second on the left side as well, very similar how Plasma themes allow an overlay on widgets and panels. Is this currently possible in Aurorae, preferably not by including the "overlay" in buttons so that it doesn't get messed up if the buttons aren't in the right order? Thanks. - May 08 2010

If Emerald is dying, use Aurorae! Aurorae works quite well, is easy to learn, and you can use Aurorae Designer to preview your themes and edit the properties. - May 08 2010

>_< Wow. Thanks. How did you know it was that file? Most of the errors I got before let me know what was missing, did I just miss it in there? - May 08 2010
I'm getting quite a lot of errors on the build, using Kubuntu 10.04 and KDE 4.4.2...

This looks amazing. I'm keeping it, however, do you think it's possible to change the background of the tabs to be the radial gray like all the other KDE windows by default? I do like the blue tabs though :)

Unfortunately, the bright blue does not match KDE 4.4 well... I think you need to create a bright blue theme for KDE 4.4 to match it :) - Feb 14 2010

How about checking out the "Snow" plugin? Maybe this would help you get the animation down so it doesn't eat up the CPU, seeing as the snow plugin is rendering a whole bunch of tiny images to fall at different speeds. Although I know its harder with large images.

If this was fixed up enough, I would love to see this just flat out incorporated into the normal image and slideshow modes. You could also *possibly* add a little "direction and speed" circle, rather than choosing just vertical and a 1-10 setting on a slider. It would be similar to this in Photoshop:

http://www.foundation-flash.com/tutorials/blendingoptions2/shadowsettings1.PNG

Also, maybe a random direction and speed box would be cool if you got it working with slideshows too! Ambitious ideas, I know, but I love it so far. - Feb 11 2010

Actually, this is the new logo... it is considered up to date on the KDE website, it is simply the line art form.

http://www.kde.org/stuff/clipart.php

Also, this is more of a placeholder... I was experimenting with the black and white, but the Oxygen blue one is partially transparent and therefore would show the squares behind it before they came out ;-) - Dec 08 2009

Hi, I'm running Kubuntu 9.10 64 bit. I tried the .deb file, told me the architecture was wrong. I'm not surprised. I installed the KDE Workspace and get the following error:

CMake Error: CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER not set, after EnableLanguage
CMake Error: Internal CMake error, TryCompile configure of cmake failed
-- Performing Test _OFFT_IS_64BIT - Failed
-- Found KDE 4.3 include dir: /usr/include

-- Found the KDE4 kconfig_compiler preprocessor: /usr/bin/kconfig_compiler
-- Found automoc4: /usr/bin/automoc4
CMake Error: your CXX compiler: "CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER-NOTFOUND" was not found. Please set CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER to a valid compiler path or name.
-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.

Apparently it cannot find the compiler during the make step... are there any suggestions to this? Thanks.
