er, the icon theme i use is Tux n' Tosh, from this site i believe - also from this site is a karamba applet called "new OS X bar" or something, from which i borrowed the icons for kooldock (some of them i modified myself, obviously)... can post them if you like - Sep 21 2004

hey sorry about the late reply, my net's been down recently - the icon set i'm using is called Tux 'n' Tosh, i dont quite remember where I got it from. also the icons i use in my kooldock launcher are from a karamba dock applet called New OSX Bar, except for a few which i have modified with the GIMP (firefox and thunderbird especially).

glad to know you like it!!! - Sep 16 2004
hey, the bottom bar is KoolDock, which can be found on this site - the version in the screenshot is 0.2 but 0.3 is available now! - Sep 14 2004
well given the behavior of KDE's included menu option (under desktop config), incorporating it would be horribly inconsistent and work only for KDE apps and sometimes not even them! also i don't know if karamba is capable of supporting that...
but you're right that the dominant feature of the OS X bar is the current app's menu, however without proper integration into KDE for all apps, that function can't be implemented consistently... - Jul 28 2004

for some reason, while kompose works great normally, running under the fd.o xserver mozilla firefox and thunderbird are drawn as black rectangles... but otherwise kompose seems speeded up! - Aug 13 2004
I don't knoww how, and I doubt this has been integrated, but running a server with the Damage Composite and Xfixes extensions and the xcompmgr seems to improve Kompose's performance ;) i wonder what would happen if it were explicitly meant to use those extensions (which are apparently going to be part of the next release)... - Aug 13 2004

apparently that's a conflicting key binding with KDE... find something unbound (KP_Enter is what I use) and use that. of course, this doesnt seem to solve my main problem with Skippy - it shows me the same window over and over, and doesnt actually switch windows when i click on a different one - Aug 12 2004
