Hello,
I have installed and used Latte v. 0.6.2 for OS Leap 42.3, downloaded from the repositories of audoban. It seems to work fine but the application has a bug which disables the key shortcut FN+Play/Pause. This is annoying because it does not work for any multimedia application!
I go back to Plank because it does not show this behavior.
I have KDE Plasma 5.8. - Oct 09 2017

exactly ! I have updated all python libraries and after that the plasmoid works again ! thank you for the feedback.

After one of the last update of the system... the plasmoid does not start.
A warning message about a python script problem appear !

OK It seems it will be better to wait for the next "plasma-addons" version for kde 4.8 ( for OS12.1)

I have uninstall only-icon-task in KDE 4.7
I have update to KDE 4.8
Icontask is missing in the plasmoids.
KDE 4.8 works with the exception of this issue fine !

Why?
Under KDE 4.7 the plasmoid was working fine
