Wow, tested and works great!
no more problems, oh wait, I got a glitch in creator... let me test it:
done, it works :D
I'd say, replace the KDE shadow plugin with yours, much better performance, much better results! - Mar 20 2010
In my crazy shadow configuration (v-offset:2, fuzziness:32, active-size:30) when the shadow is drawn over a very small element (like the application startup notification or other 16x16 smallwindows) there is some problem in the update area.

It's only a matter of enlarging the
exposed area I hope. - Mar 19 2010
Google image search for "philips aurea".

This will be really CPU intensive (or GPU shader offloaded ;-) but the concept is to cast colors from the edges of a window instead of a shadow. Colors should be casted if the "value" is high.

If this can be done, it could produce really cool graphics effects, maybe too much :D - Mar 16 2010
I've tried BeShadow and I'm really really really happy about the result. Finally shadows are *faster*!

This plugin looks *lots* better than Oxygen's shadows, since any windowed element (popups, launch notifications & co) cast shadows.

I hope this will replace the old shadow code, and if performance (already good) is improved, even better! - Mar 16 2010

Thank you for posting this preview of the theme. This theme seriously deserves more attention, because it kicks ass :D

I'm using it since you posted it and I'm impressed by the beauty and the quality of the icons!

I'll stick with it! - Nov 27 2009

I did a little code review for you and I have some suggestions, if you like:
- use QNetworkAccessManager instead of QHttp
- to parse the incoming page: you could use webkit with the 'selection' api, or use webkit with javascript code injection (see ariya hidayat's examples about this)

All in all: GREAT APP! I love it ;-) - Sep 29 2009

I've updated the package to include the translations (to make people's life easier) and finalized the package format (to make packagers happier).

This will work on any recent system with Qt 4.4 (bad), 4.5 (good) or 4.6 (best).

Happy Fotowall! - Sep 20 2009
Hello! Of course I keep up the work ;-)
Release 0.5 is OUT NOW, with many improvements (CD/DVD cover creation and printing, text tool, effects, tons of usability improvements, ...).
It likes to be built with Qt 4.5 for all the speed and effects ;-)

Thanks for the ebuild, I use Gentoo and I can't wait to see the ebuild on the tree ;-)
- Apr 11 2009
hello! yes, there is a code problem there. fotowall currently doesn't look for commandline parameters.

However, thanks to your input, i'm chainging that (plus switching the format to xml) so that behavior will be allowed! Nice suggestion!! - Mar 14 2009
All those 3 suggestions are in queue for addition ;-)
Watch the TODO list on project's homepage. - May 08 2008
Right! added the suggestion in the project homepage! really useful to bring on top by clicking! - May 08 2008

Too bad. Can you send me privately the error messages, so I can make sure this won't happen again? - Sep 19 2009
Please accept my apologies. There were many people asking for removing the ".qm" files from the package, but unfortunately not everybody has the Qt translation tools installed.

Try with a "make ts" followed by "make qm" and see if it works. Also try issuing manually a "lrelease -silent -compress -removeidentical fotowall.pri" command and see what happens.

I'll ship the qm files next times. - Sep 19 2009
We support both Qt 4.5 for 'modern' systems and 4.6 if you want to have extra eye-candy!

Can you try to isolate the problem so we can fix it in the next release? (that is going to be out very soon!) - Aug 20 2009
Fixed in 0.6.1.. sorry for the problem, caused by a non-robust 'lrelease' setup.
You can enjoy FW again ;-)
P.S: if you update Qt to 4.5.1 you will get many benefits too!! - Apr 30 2009
Hehe, you should see the next one ...
Tanguy Arnaud and me are working HARD to bring you the best release out there. We already have really GOOD stuff on the release queue.. hehe :D

If anybody has suggestions and nice ideas, share them !! ;-) - Apr 14 2009
Linked, thanks a lot ;-) Do you know how to create i686 packages too?
- Apr 11 2009
Everything is implemented (except for XML file format) in the 0.5 release ;-)
Plus more features... :D
- Apr 11 2009
It's coming.. ;-)
Really soon, with lots of features.
Development happens on github... look for it! ;-) - Mar 08 2009
Using the export functionality you can create the wallpaper, but since we preserve the aspect ratio things may get distorted.
We already have a solution for this ;-) That will come. - May 09 2008
Thanks a lot! I never now when the next release will come (I only coded this to test some "ui concepts") but I will definitely add some of the things you suggested! ;-)
Again Nice review, and thanks for improving the quality! ;-) - Dec 08 2007
Maybe the Qt4's qmake is called "qmake-qt4" in your linux distribution.

make distclean

If qt4's qmake is not even called "qmake-qt4" type "qmake" and hit the Tab key multiple times to see all the qmake executables. - Dec 08 2007

Hello, I have to fix a couple of things to use this theme with Aurorae: go to the place where the theme is extracted and rename 4 out of 5 .svgz files to .svg (since they're uncorrectly named).

You may need to fix this package....

Every time a new version of Qtcurve exits, I can't prevent myself for immediately downloading, watch for the small details and being so in love with my desktop, with your style!!
Thanks man! (I hope it will get imported by default on kde4, and maybe you'll make a version for the cleaner qt4 theming engine!)

When running gimp-2.3 on my compter, I get:
This is a development version of GIMP. Debug messages may appear here.
(gimp-2.3:958): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GimpDockable' to `GtkNotebook'
gimp-2.3: fatal error: Segmentation fault
gimp-2.3 (pid:958): [E]xit, [H]alt, show [S]tack trace or [P]roceed: e
Instead by reverting back to 0.39.1 il flows like this:
This is a development version of GIMP. Debug messages may appear here.

I'm with Gtk2-0.39.1 and KDE3-0.40 now.. and I really assure your it's the BEST STYLE around here. Much consistant, much enjoyable..

..but I couldn't try it. the core library has too much dependancies to satisfy. even the dc1394 libs that aren't recognized even after installing all 1394 packages..
Btw it looks good and I'm looking forward to try again in near future.
I know there is a SOC project for kde like this (maybe its name is konstantin, but I'm not sure)
Keep up the good work (and adapt the build system to only use the libs one has in the system, discarding other stuff).
I had problems in: dc1394_control(can't really find this), gsm, ftgl, dts, curl (had to install these), xmlpp (why don't you use QtXml? more widely available). stopped there :-)
thanks again, bye - Jul 16 2006

I tried this program, have been waving my hands all over the room jumping with happyness until I tried enabling the Ninja Noise Reduction! That's when the program crashed, making me feel real pain!!!
It bombed again when trying the revolutionary Ninja feature for many times until I gave up.
After all a good program.. and I suggest:
1) Fixing the problem with the Ninja!
2) Running the program via VALGRIND, you'll be surprised at how many delicious leaks/errors are inside this
3) QApplication::setStyle( "something other than this one, maybe 'plastiq' may be good" ); - Mar 12 2006
