I think it would be great to generalise this in way that additional conversions can be plugged in as test files or python modules.

There is a wealth of command-line conversion tools in the unix world, but patchy GUI user friendlyness. - Jul 10 2005

1. It would be nice to be able to abort generation when it is taking too long.

2. It would be handy to stop rendering when it is hogging too much CPU time and making it difficult to change the params. - Apr 09 2005

On second thoughts, I think it's a kghostview problem. Once I went into the KDE control center to configure a default printer, the dialog box went away -- but I still have a problem with kghostview hanging. - Mar 30 2005
When I do a print preview, the embedded kghostview(?) gets upset about "no printers" and it is not possible to exit print preview mode.

This is with the FC3 RPM.

The exact message-

"There is no default printer. Start with --all to see all printers. [OK]"

I don't anyone would want to undermine your donation system by offering independent RPMs. That's what I think is irritating, not so much the fact that we all need to pay our bills. - Feb 28 2005
The author has limited RPM downloads to those who donate money to the project.

I can understand their perspective, but I find it irritating. I would be more likely to donate to QtiPlot if I could have a trouble-free RPM install experience. - Feb 26 2005

Hey, that works nicely.

The only quirk I noticed was that the default terminal is "other", and undefined - resulting in a cryptic error message in the terminal I used to launch kalarm. Once I went into settings and straightened that out, all was good.

Perhaps there ought to be a check that the terminal is available, and nice dialog with error message.

Apart from that, it's working nicely, I migrated my dar-based backup scripts. I'll never need to cron again! - Feb 26 2005
Hey, that's great. Looking forward to trying it out. I'm heading off for "summer vacation" in Australia, but I've got a post-it to remind me when I return.

When I think of it, having the output stored somewhere by KAlarm might also be handy, in a way that I can bring up the output for the previous run.

My wish-list item would be to have a "run in terminal" option, rather than needing to put "xterm -e" in front of my backup command lines.

It would also be kindof nice to edit an entire shell script, rather than needing to point to an external one.

KAlarm is serving me well as a GUI-oriented alternative to cron, but it would be nice to have the command output at hand, especially for debugging. - Nov 28 2004

Version 0.92-beta1 (27.11.2004)

Ouch, it appears my Mandrake 10 is now obsolete...
