Ok, I've found another possible reason.
When you say that you've installed the theme out of the repo, then please take a look at the community-repo source url. It should be this one:

Also interesting is, that Glassified isn't available from this source.
I guess that your source belongs to KDE4.3. So deinstall it from the repo and reinstall Glassified via theme installer inside the systemsettings. This should work.
Hopefully :-) - Feb 17 2010
Thank you for your response. Mmm.
Ok, could you please try the following steps:
- deinstall the theme-package from the repo
- install Glassified via theme installer
- change the theme to another one and then back to Glassified

Maybe the theme inside the repo could be the reason for this problem.
To show you that it works for me, here is a screenshot of my desktop:

Thank you for your support! - Feb 17 2010

Thank you! Always nice to hear something like that. - Feb 14 2010
Thank you for your comment.
I have to say that I never really used kdeµblog, because I don't have and want a microblogging account.
Is it possible to send me a screenshot of it to fix this problem? I would really help a lot. - Feb 14 2010
Thanks for your comment and really thank you for this fix!
It should work now.
And now all files are svgz.
Thank you again! - Feb 14 2010
Thanks for your comment.
Like I already wrote to isaacj87:
Here on my systems (a netbook and a desktop - both running openSUSE 11.2 with KDE 4.4.0) it works like it should.
I really don't know why it doesn't work on yours, sorry. - Feb 14 2010
Thanks for your comment.

I use RC1 with openSUSE 11.2 and this doesn't happen to me.
In beta2 there weren't all parts set correct but not that heavy.
I would say that you could try to delete the cache folder inside your kde4-dir of your home-partition and then restart plasma. if you upgraded from KDE4.3 this could be the problem. - Jan 09 2010
Hi and thank you for your nice comment.

I'm not 100% sure, but i mean that there aren't many changes between 4.3 and 4.4 plasma theming. They added a "lineedit.svg(z)" to get a more "plasma-native" look for inputs. I also had to modify "frame.svg" to get a good-looking tabbar. Otherwise you better name the files "*.svgz" instead of "*.svg", which seems to be more important now.

I would say that's it.
I hope I was able to help you a little bit. - Jan 08 2010
Thank you for that comment! - Jan 08 2010
Thank you for your comment.

Until v.2 or something like that, there was a larger shadow under the panel, but other users didn't like it because of a small space between a window and the panel. So i decided to make the shadow 1px small and most of them where happy with it.
So maybe in a later version i will bring the larger shadow back with other possibilities in plasma.

Sorry for my late reply. - Jan 08 2010
Hello and thank you for your comment.

It's fixed with the new version.
And it shouldn't crash plasma anymore since beta2, i think.

And sorry for my late reply. - Jan 08 2010

I know that the current situation without composition isn't really satisfying at the moment espacially with glassified.
I've removed the old opaque parts, because on the one hand it didn't look quit well and on the other hand I hoped for the effort of the kde-devs to implement transparency into plasma without activated composition.
But now that it seems that this won't happen I'll try to make a new and better opaque theme.
I just don't know how long this will take.
Stay tuned and thank you for your comment. - Jun 10 2009
Hi and thanks for your comment.

I've seen the problem and it will be fixed in the next version.
I will also update the whole lancelot-theme.

Thank you again! - Jun 10 2009
Hi and thank you for your comment!

I use STaks ( as taskmanager. I looks really nice and offers variable configurations.
Just install it and replace it with the default taskmanager.

I hope this is the answer you wanted and there isn't any doubt left.
Thank you again for your nice words. - Apr 14 2009
Now it should work with the actualisation-option by using desktop settings.
After that just change and re-change your desktop theme and it will work.

Thank you for your nice words.

- Apr 13 2009
Thank you for reporting this!

Unfortunately it was my fault, because i used the wrong files. I've updated it again with the correct ones.

Sorry for this bug and thank you again for your support!

- Apr 13 2009
First of all: Thank you for your comment!

Second: I can't confirm this situation here on openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.2.

This theme is optimized for 4.2, so i guess it could be the problem that you use 4.1, in which plasma works a little bit different with themes. - Apr 07 2009
Thank you for your comment!

For now i have to say that i will be as it is, because it more consistent to the rest of the theme.

But if you want to use the panel-background of v2.4.0, then you can download it here:

Just put it into $HOME/.kde4/share/apps/desktoptheme/Glassified/widgets, clear the cache and restart plasma.

I hope it will help you a bit and you're not too disapointed at the moment.

Thank you again for your feedback! - Mar 30 2009
Thank you!
Glad to here that :-) - Mar 30 2009
Hi and thank you for your comment!

You're right. Before i've made the borders thicker, because of aesthetic reasons. But since I also use a netbook, I've started to re-think because I know how important space-saving is now.

On the other hand I want a good conclusion between both situations (high and low resolutions) and that's sometimes not so easy. Primarily if you have to look at new changes in plasma and it's behaviour.

Thanks again for using my theme and giving some feedback :-) - Mar 30 2009
Now I'm calmed ;-)

Have a nice evening. - Mar 27 2009
Thanks for your report.

I cannot confirm this bug in anyway.
I use openSUSE 11.1 with KDE 4.2.1 and integrated Intel Graphics and another pc with Nvidia Graphics.
Have you cleared the cache or resized the panel to look if it's gone after that?

Does anybody else have this problem?

- Mar 27 2009
Hi and thank you for your comment!

I know that the borders of the panel aren't as rounded as before, but wait for the upcoming release which will have a modified background, dialog-background, tooltip and panel. The panel won't be as rounded as before, but more than now.

Just wait and you'll see that it will fit together and look really nice.

Спасибо Я написана на немецком языке, и вы заинтересованы в моей теме. Я знаю, что это весьма признателен.

Thank you again! - Mar 27 2009
Hi and thanks for your comment!

I've tested it here on my machine (openSUSE 11.1) and activated Compiz and saw that it goes black. When I'm logging out and in everything looks as it should.
Maybe it's the same behaviour like yours. It seems like an issue of compiz-integration into KDE, but I don't know what and where I could change anything to fix this issue.
With KWin everything looks quite well, so it seems that it has to fix somewhere else.

But thanks again for your report. - Mar 24 2009
Hi and thank you for this bug report!

It was my mistake, because I forgot to give the small normal-button it's name.

Thank you again for your support! - Mar 17 2009
Hi and thank you for your comment.

This behaviour isn't unfortunately caused by my theme.
When you activate another theme you'll see that the cutted bottomborder is also there.

Sorry, but you can write a bug report on if you don't like this behaviour.

Thanks again- - Mar 07 2009

you're right. The theme doesn't have a stylesheet, yet.
Wait for the next release. There will be one inside.

Thanks for your comment! - Feb 25 2009
Hi and thanks for your comment!

I've seen that you've uploaded a deKorator-theme and i find it very nice.
Thanks for that!

But to have a full set, wait for the KDM-theme, which i will upload in a day or two ;-) - Feb 18 2009
Thanks for your hints.

Just wait a day or two. Then i will upload a completely reworked KDM-theme.

Thanks again! - Feb 18 2009

I have tested your scenario several times by logging in and out, but for me it seems to work. Maybe a problem with your distro or KDE-version?

I've done a KDM-Theme, but the problem is, that my KDM seems to be broken and i can't test it.
You can download it here and try it:

Try it and tell me if it works (even with a screenshot), if you want.

Thank you! - Feb 14 2009

I just want to inform you, that the panel-sizing-problem after login is caused by Qt4.4.
I've tested it with Qt4.5 et voila: It worked! - Mar 16 2009
Thanks for your effort.
Maybe it's a problem with Qt 4.4.
I'll test it with Qt4.5. Maybe it's just a problem with my system.

Until then it's not that big problem to live with this small issue. - Mar 10 2009
Of course.
I use kickoff, pager, STasks, systemtray, yawp, battery, playwolve, digital clock and LogOut. - Mar 09 2009
I've installed rev.114, but the problem still exists. Again tested with different themes.

Nevertheless, thanks again for this great plasmoid. - Mar 09 2009

Unfortunately I have to confirm the issue with resized yawp-instances on the panel.
Every time i login yawp on the panel uses only 50% of space.

After changing the yawp-theme everything becomes alrights.

I've tested this with different plasma-themes and yawp-themes. I use openSUSE 11.1 with pre-compiled KDE4.2.1 and QT 4.4.3. - Mar 08 2009

I don't know if this would be very useful, because this wonderful plasmoid shouldn't be too glutted.
I would say that STasks, including the upcoming grouping-feature, is nearly perfect as it is.
Only animations or performance should be optimized, which will be done really fast, i believe.

But when you speak about a close-button, then i would prefer it on the top-right corner of grouped-items in preview. That would be really useful, i think.
A close-button on the task itself wouldn't look very professional.
But closing tasks by middle-clicking could be an option.;-) - Mar 16 2009

Hi and thank you for your comment.

First of all, I've tested it several times here and couldn't reproduce this behaviour on my machine (openSUSE 11.1, KDE 4.2.1).
Even though the variables %F and %U should do nearly the same, because they take the list of files(urls) including their full path. I'll look if everything's going well with the %F variable and update it.

Thanks again. - Mar 15 2009
Hi and thanks for your comment!

I know that the popip dialog isn't the nicest way for that, but i don't see an equivalent way to inform the user that the operation is done.

The solution you gave sounds really nice, but isn't (as far as I know) possible with servicemenus.
If I'm wrong with this tell me, but I think it has to be coded into the application.

Sorry. - Mar 15 2009

But for now the one i've written is a quick and dirty solution. - Mar 12 2009
I think you can do this manually right now.
Just open the file "" inside the folder "code" and search for this line:

self.icon = Plasma.IconWidget(KIcon("folder-green"), "",

Just change "folder-green" to the one you want from your icon-theme.

Hi and, like always, thank you ;-)

I use inkskape to create the svg's.
If you use images, like i do, you have embed them inside the svg file.
Just mark your images and go to
Effects -> Pictures -> Embed all pictures...
After that you must edit the object preferences. Mark an image -> right click on it -> object preferences and set the ID for it.

If you want to know more about plasma theming at all look here:

I hope this will help you a little bit.
If not just ask again. - Mar 08 2009
Thank you for your comment.

I first wanted to make it with a userlist, but it didn't look as well as now.
But maybe i find the time to make an alternative with userlist.
Stay tuned! - Feb 24 2009
