Danke für die Blumen :-)

I would use labels like "Downloads" or "Programs" f.e. instead of the path. But it should be the second option. Default should be showing the path of course.

Because you said that suggestions are always welcome i would like to give you another ;-): Another option of showing the files and folders as symbols would be very cool, but i don't know if it's possible. Just an idea.

But so far im impressed.

- Jun 30 2008
This is a fantastic plasmoid which is very useful! Fantastic work!

If i am allowed to give you suggestions then make it possible to set an individual label instead of the path on top of the plasmoid and let it use the user's systemsettings (single or double click).

But for now it's absolutely incredible!
Keep it up. - Jun 29 2008

First of all thank you for using my theme and your comments!

1°> If you mean normal icons like the hardware-monitor or application icons, then i have to tell you that this is not a problem of the theme. The smaller the height of the panel is the bigger the space between them gets.
But if you mean the tasks then i just can say that this was purposed by me, because it doesn't feel densely packed there. Exept this like i can see on your screenshot you haven't got the newest glassified, which has new tasks.

2°> There is a small space between the maximized window and the panel, because the top of the panel has a small shadow.
My point of view is that it looks even better than a fully maximized window is "sitting" straight on top of the panel.

3°> I don't know exactly what you mean and which kde 4.1 version you got, but this seems to be a panel problem on your system, which i cannot reproduce.

Thanks again and write more comments if you like. - Jun 10 2008
Nice to hear that you succeeded.
Like you can see on this screenshot this theme is primarily designed for KDE4.1. Some thing aren't rendered correctly and don't look that good with kde 4.0.x.
So wait for kde4.1 and everything will be alright. - Jun 07 2008
Hello and sorry for not giving the right translucentbackground!

Like i wrote in my changelog the translucentbackground should be like the normal background but i simply copied the completly transparent one twice.

Now in 1.2 the translucentbackground is like before 1.1 optionally you can make it transparent by renaming the 'translucentbackground2.svg' file.

Sorry for that mistake. - Jun 07 2008

please read some comments before. There you will find instructions.
Otherwise it's not my fault that there aren't any instructions of installing plasma themes on this site.
Exuse me, but i think the webmasters of this site will solve this missing thing in the near future.

Good luck! - Jun 06 2008
Good to hear that this has solved the problem.
I removed the 'background.svg' because it should be useless.
- Jun 01 2008
Hello and thanks for your comment!

I this theme (like in all other themes) there is a file called 'iconbutton.svg' which should design the background of icons. But i suspect that this is for now not really themable. The only way to change it is to set the font color to black, because the background turns then into white.
I hope this problem will be fixed soon.
Until then we have to live with this situation.
- May 31 2008
i've uploaded a background.svg file without shadow. I hope it looks better for you now. - May 31 2008
Hello and thank you for your comment!

You can read how to install it inside a comment on the previous page. It isn't really hard.

If you still have problems after reading it i will help you more, ok?

Good luck! - May 30 2008

Removing the shadow isn't really possible, because the panel-background exists out of embedded images inside the svg-file.
But if you doesn't use desktop effects, you can copy the 'panel-background.svg' inside 'opaque/widgets' to 'widgets' and overwrite the other one. This file doesn't have a shadow but isn't transparent.

Try it out if you want. - May 30 2008

like i can see on the screenshot your theme you doesn't have a transparent panel, does it?
If this is so the normal, not opaque, background has a small shadow above which is painted black when transparency is missing.
For me it's looking like on my 2nd screenshot.
Maybe you don't have activated desktop effects or it's because you are using another kde4 version (I'm using kde4.1 beta).

I hope you can resolve this problem. Good luck! - May 30 2008
Oh and another thing:
Does anybody have the same problem that XRENDER renders the theme correctly and OPENGL not? With OPENGL the panel f.e. is darker than it should and XRENDER does.

Can someone confirm this? - May 28 2008
I want to say thank you to everyone for all these nice comments!

To hear that i'm not the only one who likes this theme gives a good feeling.

To remove existing glitches it would be nice if you could tell me them or give a feedback of full functionality.

But for now: Thank You! - May 28 2008

for everyone it's eventually the first time. So that's no problem.

1. extract the zip-file
2. copy the folder 'Glassified' either local to $HOME/.kde4/apps/desktoptheme or systemwide to /usr/share/kde4/apps/desktoptheme
3. choose the theme by right clicking on the desktop and then 'desktop settings' -> 'plasma theme'
4. click 'OK' and restart your kde4 session.

Another way to activate is to edit the 'plasmarc' file in $HOME/.kde4/config.

By the way the instructions beside the download file aren't mine and deal for the most parts with KDE3. So not my fault at all.

Good luck!
- May 28 2008
Hello again.

I don't know if your special combination is the right thing, but until i'm not the only one with this problem i change the default one to black again. The transparent one is now the alternative (shutdowndialog2.svg) for people like you, who can use transparent logout.

When kde4 doesn't have this bug anymore i will change again, because the transparent one fits much better.

p.p.s. Ja, man versteht es gut. - May 27 2008
Hello and thank you for using it!

I got also this problem with no real transparency on logout. But there are people out there using KDE4 who doesn't have this problem.
Nevertheless i decided to make the black shutdowndialog the default one and the transparent an alternative, because my goal for this theme is that everybody can use it the same way. And of course you and me.

- May 27 2008

i forgot to change the krunner background. I've uploaded a new one now and hope it's fixed.
What do you mean with the shutdowndialog problem? If you you just see a white border and nothing else then you have the same compositing problem like me. There is a file called 'Shutdowndialog2.svg' inside the dialog folder which has a black background and is rendered correctly. Just rename it to 'shutdowndialog.svg' and restart your session.
People with a kde4.0 doesn't seem to have this problem. - May 23 2008

Good too hear that it worked. I will upload the transparent shutdowndialog again and leave the black one as 'shutdowndialog2.svg' inside the 'dialog' folder.

I know that kde4.1 is still alpha and definitely buggy, but this theme needs to be done on this version, because the change to qt4.4 brings some differences and optimizations to kde4.1.
So i will still painfully use 4.1 and wait until the final is released in july. - May 23 2008
Hallo Mark,

And now for non-german-speakers:

Hello Mark,

1.) I'm using openSUSE and have added the KDE4 unstable repository to my package manager. I really don't know if this is also possible with Kubuntu.

2.) I had to change the shutdowndialog into black, because the transparent one was, insteed of the white border, not rendered correctly. Seems to be a compositing bug.
Does it work for you? If yes then i know that my kde4 is more buggier than i thought and i will upload the transparent one again.

Oh and thank you for the flowers. Nice to hear that other people like this theme like i do. - May 23 2008
Hello and Thank you for your comment!

I think you're definitely right with your statements.
Sex sells.
- May 23 2008

if you use kde4.0 i think it's not possible to change the width of the panel.
I use kde4.1 from svn(unstable) were you have the panel controller (by clicking on the small plasma icon on the right of the panel).

I hope this answer will satisfy you ;-) - May 23 2008
That is quite a good idea!

I've changed it now to a glassy white.
Maybe i will have to change the textcolor if it's hard readable. - May 22 2008
Thank you and nice to hear that you like my theme!

Because the plasma theme contest is over, this one unfortunately couldn't be the default one. But maybe for an other release.

You said you are using it since i uploaded it. Can you (or anybody else) give me some feedback about some lacks in design or other suggestions?
The fact that my kde4 desktop is still a bit broken doesn't make it easier for me to proof it smoothly. - May 22 2008
I've looked at your shutdowndialog.svg file and saw that you choose an imagefile with the symbol as a transparent hole.
The resolution of this image seems to be the problem. Use an higher resoluted image and scaled down inside your vector-programm. This could help.

I did it with the original oxygen svg and deleted the red background stuff. My shutdowndialog doesn't have an image file.

P.S. I really haven't seen that your shutdowndialog looks nearly the same like mine, i swear! - May 21 2008
Ok, just like me.

Try my newest upload. Maybe it works now.
If not i will make the symbol as an embedded image.

Once again: Has anybody else the same problem? - May 21 2008

which KDE4 version do you use?

Maybe it's a problem with 4.0. I use 4.1 from svn.

At the moment i can't proof this problem, but the previous shutdowndialog with nearly the same components looked like in the svg-file.

Is there anybody else who has this problem? - May 21 2008
Thank you for the suggestion!
Could have been my idea. ;-)

I've added now shadows to the clock, widget background, tooltip and analog meter. - May 21 2008
Thank you for providing my theme!

I downloaded the package manually and i've seen, that the file 'colors' inside my theme folder is missing. It looks much better with the right colors.

But nevertheless: Thank You! - May 20 2008
