I just installed debian deb packages. I was under the impression that it was just standard KDE CVS, but i guess it's possible that the guy making the packages has tweaked them a bit... - Sep 20 2003
I'm running Debian unstable. There's a guy who makes CVS debian packages here:
http://opendoorsoftware.com/cgi/http.pl?p=kdecvs;frame=1)

I just used apt-get to install his packages and i've had no (major) problems since. KDE CVS worked straight away.

Yep. that's the new kicker. You can change its opacity. Unfortunately, you can't change the opacity of individual kickers.

In my screenshot, i wanted to have a transparent bottom kicker, and a solid top kicker. Unfortunately atm you've got to have both or neither...

So in my screenshot the top kicker is actually transparent. I had to hack the wallpaper image to make it look the kicker has a stippled background. - Sep 20 2003
Thanks. I'm pretty happy with it. It's a nice desktop to work with...

Yep, the shadows are built into the cvs version now. They're not part of the window decoration (Aqua OSK).

Find out more about window shadows here:

I'm using the Mac IE5 theme. You can get it at the usual place:
http://www.texturizer.net/firebird/themes.html

The tabs, stippled background and scrollbar are provided by the AquaX+ gtk theme. You can get that here at kde-look:
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=7082

Finally, the font is apple's 'lucida grande'. You can download it (and lots of other cool osx stuff) here:

Hi

I'm guessing you're talking about the corners on the playlist window.

As far as i know, there's no way you can make transparancy over the playlist, because it's a resizable window... it's a shame.

I tried to make the corners on it blend in as best as i could. I'll try and make them better for the next release.

Thanks for the feedback,

Hi,
I'll probably remove the apple logos in the next release. I guess i should change the quicktime logo too :)

I originally made the skin just for myself because i couldn't find an mplayer skin that would fit in with my aqua desktop...

It turned out pretty nice so i released it. I wasn't sure what the concensus was about trademarks and stuff so i left them in. If they're not cool, then I can remove them pretty easily without damaging the skin's asthetic too much i think.

I agree that the sub window could look a bit nicer. There's a few bad pixels in there around the edges which i can fix... I do like it small and minimal as it is though :) I'm open to suggestions for it.

Hi, i'm really sorry about that. I've had about 100 people download a corrupted file :/

I've fixed this up now, so try downloading it again.

Thanks for your time everyone,

What are you using to create the applications bar down the bottom? Is it a modifyed version of karamba's Dynbar? - May 07 2003
