Request: korganizer/kmail/kontact action icons. I haven't looked through the theme so I don't know whether this would be difficult or not, but I hope it's not too bad! Maybe there's evolution icons for it?
Also dolphin toolbar action buttons, please!
I also have some custom icons, if you want them:
Mendeley Desktop
Konversation message notifier
Sonata
ApE (semi-obscure science app)
Just ask and I'll send them/upload them! - Jun 05 2011

When I unzip + untar the source archive and run find -type l, I don't see anything (no links!). Maybe the links are getting removed at some point, if you're using a build script?
And now that I think about it, so long as Inherits=Faenza is in there, integration will still work. So... that's cool. No need to force people to install the original Faenza, but integration will work better if they already have it. Nifty. - Dec 18 2010

If you inherit Faenza or even Faenza-Cupertino, this will essentially make your theme entirely cross-platform (GTK/GNOME and KDE). All a user will have to do is select this as their gtk icon set and their KDE iconset and everything will work perfectly. This would benefit GNOME users using KDE apps just as much as KDE users using GTK apps! - Dec 16 2010

1) I know you know about it already, but conflicting with Faenza is really a problem. Please update the index/folder name soon! It makes automating any integration with GTK apps simply impossible (you can have Faenza for gtk or KDE, but not both without editing the index).
2) You can save a lot of file size by doing two things:
First, inherit the Faenza icon theme itself and only replace the icons that differ (like Faenza Cupertino does by default). Just add 'Faenza' to your Inherits= line in the index.theme. This will only work after you change the theme name. A downside is that everyone will have to download both Faenza and your package, but it does make it super easy to distribute (I would put it on archlinux's aur).
Second, you can use symlinks for redundant images. This will probably cut your filesize in half!
Thanks again! This icon set is simply fantastic. I would be happy to implement the above suggestions if you want some help! - Dec 16 2010
Alternatively, I'd just like to be able to look at the playlist without managing two windows.
Thanks! - Aug 23 2010
The theme uses an image with a darker blue-lighter blue horizontal gradient. To port it, I copied the exact titlebar background corners over - those are fine. I then copied the majority of the gradient to the button background image file, then a 1px wide to the left-mid titlebar position, another to the center, and another to the right-mid position, and so on.
The result is that the moment the buttons end (which varies between users due to their different preferences), the 'left-mid' title background starts, causing an abrupt shift (not so pretty). My workaround for this was to make the button background 1 px wide, but this results in a somewhat-visible constant to gradient shift once the title switches from the button background to the left-mid title background. Ideally, one could go from right to left from a source theme image, place them in order as title background files, and have them show up in full, rather than being clipped when the buttons end.

The Program icons look fine on my computer. I wonder if SUSE uses its own naming scheme/patches? Could you check for me (should be in /usr/share/icons/oxygen/64x64/categories). Thanks! - Feb 04 2010

It'd make things even easier if there were an option/check button that wasn't in the wizard so I could streamline the process! Perhaps under the 'DVD' section, you could have an 'always remove Menus' option?
Thanks for the excellent app! - Sep 04 2009

A couple problems, though. I've already included battery icons where oxygen keeps theirs. It seems that the battery icon is controlled by the plasma theme, not the icon theme (kind of silly). The Amarok play/pause icons are all part of the amarok theme svg. Maybe I'll find a way to edit it and release it separately.
Also, what are 'big icons'? Do you mean a higher resolution? KDE won't actually use higher resolutions than 128x128 so far as I can tell.
Finally, a Buuf-style KDE4 icon would look terrible, because I'd be doing it (rather than mattahan) unless he decides to make one. But I can try ;).
Everything else seems doable, except for the plasmoids. woo! - Aug 26 2009

One last issue with it: resizing is difficult with mouse-only. I can do alt + right click, but it would be nice to have an option to make the lower right hand corner more clickable (for resizing) as in the Nitrogen window decoration. As it is, I can't get any horizontal resizing unless it's a super tiny area of the top left corner.
Thanks for the awesome work, now the Dots theme will look right :). - Jul 28 2009

I'm currently trying to port a theme that has no borders on the left and right sides but does have beveled edges (requiring a mask). Dekorator doesn't seem to like no borders when there's a mask (haven't tried it without one) and just leaves a bunch of space on the left and right sides, w/ the beveled edges reaching over.
It would be nice to have a 'no border' option, maybe as part of the theme settings file!
Also, it seems to me like implementing a lot of these changes could possibly break backwards compatibility, have you considered forking the project? I don't mean to suggest that you do it, as you're the dev and know better how this should go, but it's an idea ;).
Oh, final thing: it might be nicer to adopt an emerald-style naming scheme + image setup, where for each button you have a single image split into six pieces (normal, hover, press, and the same for inactive windows). It would make porting/using emerald themes much easier (perhaps even automated/native!) and make improvements easier to organize, imo.
Thanks! - Jun 27 2009

I've noticed a couple things you might want to know about, though. First, there's no apparent pause button. If I hit play again, it actually skips to the next song. Actually, 'play' just seems to skip in any situation.
It's also a bit slow when populating the playlist.
I don't mean to criticize, take these as helpful notes!
Also, how does it look for icons? Mine doesn't look nearly as good as yours (I use KDE), even though I'm using a Tango! theme. - Jun 27 2009

"IMPORTANT: to use this icon theme, you need some applications:
1. 'zip' or 'unzip'. This allows you to unpack the files! (necessary because deviantart won't let me upload tarballs)
2. The 'convert' command from the Imagemagick application suite (free and open source).
3. 'tar'. You should already have this if you have KDE.
4. KDE. I don't know why you wouldn't have this, but uh... this suite is meant for KDE. While it's tango standards-compliant, many gnome/gtk apps are missing icons."
On archlinux, which is what I use (woo another archer): pacman -S imagemagick.
I don't think I included install instructions in the actual file, though. I should do that, thanks for reminding me!
'convert' is super handy for any kind of batch image editing, btw. - May 20 2009

Maybe you could check out what emerald does with their theme.ini files. They've had a bunch of people working on their stuff and if it's a rational system, you might as well mooch off of 'em. - Apr 24 2009
If I could get the window decoration working, I'd make a style w/ svgs using QuantumStyle. Then there'd finally be some good minimalist themes for KDE :D.
Incidentally, I can get the mask working on the bottom section just fine, but the window shadows drawn by kwin aren't affected so there's a massive block down below. I don't know if this is something you can define in dekorator, either via coding it in or if the option's already there, but it's necessary to make any theme with an irregular bottom border look good. - Apr 23 2009
