Okay, I've got the solution!

You have to put the extracted file (alien-green) into your $KDEDIR/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/ folder, where $KDEDIR is your KDE directory (in my case /opt/kde3). Then go to the Splash Screen manager as you did before and it will be there as an option.

Doesn't work for me either (openSUSE 10.2). When you click 'Add', a browse window opens with the filetype filter set to "KSplash Theme Files" and none of the downloaded files show up when I browse to the extracted folder. - Aug 18 2007

Where it say's "companies" should say "company's". Still I'd think it better if it said "the UC" and then instead of just "Umbrella Corporation" at the beginning said "Umbrella Corporation (UC)". Also, it should probably say "prosecuted" rather than "punished"... etc. - Aug 16 2007
